Girolamo Saccheri’nı̇n Paralellı̇k Problemı̇nı̇n Çözümüne Dair

Giovanni Girolamo Saccheri (1667-1733), Euclides ab omni naevo vindicatus başlıklı eserinde Öklid’in Elementler’inin mükemmelliğine gölge düşüren üç leke olduğundan bahseder. Bunlardan biri, paralellik postulatı –diğerleri, rasyoların kompozisyonu (Kitap V, Tanım 6) ve eşit-nispetler/oranlar (Kitap VI, Tanım 5)- ve sözü edilen çalışmada Saccheri, paralellik probleminin kendisinden önce gelen geometricilerden farklı bir çözümünü verir. Onun çözümü, paralellik postulatının Öklid’in geometrisi için elzem olduğunun ispatlamasına dayanır. İspatı da reductio ad absurdum metodunu kullanarak yapar. Bu çalışmada, Saccheri’nin ispatının analizi ve değerlendirilmesi yapılacaktır.

Hilbert functions of gorenstein monomial curves

The aim of this thesis is to study the Hilbert function of a one-dimensional Gorenstein local ring of embedding dimension four in the case of monomial curves. We show that the Hilbert function is non-decreasing for some families of Gorenstein monomial curves in affine 4-space. In order to prove this result, under some arithmetic assumptions on generators of the defining ideal, we determine the minimal generators of their tangent cones by using the standard basis and check the Cohen-Macaulayness of them. Synthesis of polythiophene and polypyrrole derivatives and their application in electrochromic devices
Ak, Metin; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Department of Chemistry (2006)
Different substituted thiophene and pyrrole monomers namely hexamethylene (bis-3-thiopheneacetamide) (HMTA), N-(4-(3-thienylmethylene)-oxycarbonylphenyl)maleimide (MBThi), 2,4,6-Tris-(4-pyrrol-1-yl-phenoxy)-[1,3,5]triazine (TriaPy), 2,4,6-Tris-(thiophen-3-ylmethoxy)-[1,3,5] triazine (TriaTh), and N-(2-(thiophen-3-yl)methylcarbonyloxyethyl) maleimide (NMT) were synthesized. The chemical structures of the monomers were characterized by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H-NMR and 13C-NMR) and Fourier Transform Infr...
Optical and electrical characterization of titanosilicate ETS-10 thin films: photochromism and ionic conductivity
Galioğlu Özaltuğ, Sezin; Akata Kurç, Burcu; Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit; Department of Micro and Nanotechnology (2015)
Zeo-type Engelhard titanosilicate (ETS-10) crystals were synthesized by using Ti source of P25 and titanium (IV) isopropoxide. Using different Ti sources resulted in ETS-10 crystals with different particle morphology and particle size. The investigation of the titanosilicate ETS-10 crystals was done by FE-SEM, XRD and Raman analyses. The analyses showed that the samples contain only pure ETS-10 phase without any titanosilicate ETS-4 and quartz phases in our ETS-10 samples. Ag+ ions and Ag0 nanoparticles wer...
Anisotropic solutions for generalised holography

We first find that the four dimensional cosmological Einstein-Yang-Mills theory with $SU(2)$ gauge group admits Lifshitz spacetime as a base solution for the dynamical exponent $z > 1$. Motivated by this, we next demonstrate numerically that the field equations admit black hole solutions which behave regularly on the horizon and at spatial infinity for different horizon topologies. In the second part, using an off-shell Killing spinor analysis we perform a systematic investigation of the supersymmetric back...
Immobilization of tyrosinase in polysiloxane/polypyrrole copolymer matrices
Arslan, Ahu; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Department of Chemistry (2006)
Immobilization of tyrosinase in conducting copolymer matrices of pyrrole functionalized polydimethylsiloxane/polypyrrole (PDMS/PPy) were achieved by electrochemical polymerization. The polysiloxane/polypyrrole/tyrosinase electrode was constructed by the entrapment of enzyme in conducting matrices during electrochemical copolymerization. Maximum reaction rate (Vmax) and Michaelis-Menten constant (Km) were investigated for immobilized enzyme. Enzyme electrodes were prepared in two different electrolyte/solven...
