Benzotriazole containing conjugated polymers for multipurpose organic electronic applications
Balan, Abidin; Baran, Derya; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), 2011-01-01)
Benzotriazole (BTz) containing polymers have recently emerged in organic electronic applications and they are increasingly attracting a great deal of attention. These polymers are reviewed from a general perspective in terms of their potential use in three main fields, electrochromics (ECs), organic solar cells (OSCs) and organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). In order to have a better insight into the properties of these polymers, they were compared with similar polymers. Good solubility, optical and elect...
Benzotriazole Derivatives as Long Wavelength Photosensitizers for Diaryliodonium Salt Initiators
Bulut, Umut; Balan, Abidin; Caliskan, Cagin (Wiley, 2011-02-01)
Two benzotriazole derivative dyes 4,7-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-2-dodecyl-2H-benzo[1,2,3]triazole, and 2-dodecyl-4,7-bis(4-hexylthiophen-2-yl)-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole are shown to work as efficient photosensitizers for a dipheny-liodonium salt initiator in cationic photopolymerization of epoxide and vinyl monomers. Substituted thienyl groups are attached to benzotriazole backbone to extend conjugation and enhance electron density of the molecules. Thereby, it was possible to initiate ...
Benzotriazole and quinoxaline containing random copolymers for bulk-heterojunction polymer solar cell applications
Temiz, Cansel; Çırpan, Ali; Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2015)
In this study, benzotriazole and quinoxaline derivates bearing donor acceptor type three random copolymers were synthesized to achieve broad absorption spectrum in visible region. Quinoxalines are used as strong acceptors in conjugated polymers due to the imine nitrogen in the structure. Quinoxaline containing polymers are green in their neutral states and they reveal two distinct λmax at around 400 and 700 nm. Additionally, benzotriazole and thiophene bearing polymers are red in their neutral states with λ...
Benzotriazole and benzothiadiazole containing conjugated copolymers for organic solar cell applications
KARAKUS, Melike; APAYDIN, Dogukan Hazar; Yildiz, Dilber Esra; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (Elsevier BV, 2012-03-09)
2-Dodecyl benzotriazole (BTz) and benzothiadiazole (BTd) containing copolymers poly(4-(2-dodecyl-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol-4-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole (P1), poly(4-(5-(2-dodecyl-7-(thiophen-2yl)-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol-4-yl)thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole (P2) and poly(4-(5-(2-dodecyl-7-(4-hexylthiophen-2-yl)-2H-benzo[d] [1,2,3]triazol-4-yl)-3-hexylthiophen-2-yl) benzo[c][1,2,5] thiadiazole (P3) were synthesized via Suzuki polycondensation. We report the application of conjugated copolymers i...
Benzotriazole and Benzodithiophene Containing Medium Band Gap Polymer for Bulk Heterojunction Polymer Solar Cell Applications
UNAY, Hande; UNLU, Naime A.; HIZALAN, Gonul; HACIOGLU, Serife O.; Yildiz, Dilber Esra; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (Wiley, 2015-02-15)
An alternating donor-acceptor copolymer based on a benzotriazole and benzodithiophene was synthesized and selenophene was incorporated as -bridge. The photovoltaic and optical properties of polymer were studied. The copolymer showed medium band gap and dual absorption peaks in UV-Vis absorption spectra. Photovoltaic properties of P-SBTBDT were performed by conventional device structure. The OSC device based on polymer: PC71BM (1:1, w/w) exhibited the best PCE of 3.60% with a V-oc of 0.67 V, a J(sc) of 8.95 ...
