Chromium substituted iron oxide nanowires as affordable electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction
Kocabas, Serra; Çetin, Asude; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar; Nalbant Esentürk, Emren (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2019-07-01)
Earth-abundant metal oxides have become center of attention in the application of electrochemical energy conversion and storage. In this work, CrFeO3 was synthesized as a new catalyst for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The structural and chemical properties of CrFeO3 were characterized by TEM, SEM, EDX, XRD, XPS, and BET analyses. The microscopy images reveal that CrFeO3 have wire-like morphology, which was formed by assembly of ca. 14nm nanocrystallites. Then, potential utility of the synthesized nanowir...

Chromium Bis(anthracene-(6)) Complexes - A DFT Study
Türker, Burhan Lemi (2018-04-03)
Chromium bisanthracene-(6) complexes are considered within the framework of density functional theory using LANL2DZ and 6-31+G(d) basis sets and B3LYP functional. The complexation with both the same types of rings of anthracene decks (AA- and BB-type complexes) and with different rings (AB-type complex) are considered. The optimized geometries and the associated quantum chemical properties are comparatively discussed for the both types of basis sets used. LANL2DZ basis set yielded some unreasonable results....
Chlorine and Caesium Promotion of Silver Ethylene Epoxidation Catalysts
Ozbek, M. Olus; Önal, Işık; van Santen, Rutger A. (2013-02-01)
The effect of co-adsorbed Cs and Cl on the selectivity of ethylene epoxidation was studied computationally on an Ag2O(001) surface model. Cl blocks the oxygen vacant sites and prevents oxometallacycle (OMC) formation, which is responsible for aldehyde formation on the oxide surface. Cl also prevents unfavorable surface reconstruction induced by co-adsorption of ethylene. It also has a positive effect on the stability of selective oxygen species when Cs co-exists. Introduction of Cs on the Ag2O(001) surface ...
Supersonic molecular beam deposition of pentacene thin films on two Ag(111) surfaces with different step densities
Danışman, Mehmet Fatih; Scoles, G (American Physical Society (APS), 2005-08-01)
The structure of pentacene thin films grown by supersonic molecular beam deposition on two Ag(111) single-crystal surfaces with different average step distances ( similar to 400 angstrom and > 2000 angstrom) have been studied by low-energy atom diffraction. While the initial stage of the growth is similar on the two different surfaces, regardless of the pentacene kinetic energy and substrate temperature, thicker films show different structural and thermal properties. The ultrathin-film phase has the same st...
