Crude oil characterization using TGA-DTA, TGA-FTIR and TGA-MS techniques
Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Nurgaliev, Danis K. (2017-06-01)
In this research, combustion characterization and kinetics of four different origin crude oil samples were determined using thermogravimetry - differential thermal analysis (TGA-DTA) and thermogravimetry - Fourier transform infrared (TGA-FTIR) and thermogravimetry mass spectrophotometry (TGA-MS) techniques.
Crude Oils Characterization of Waxes Precipitated on Cooling by DSC and Thermomicroscopy
Jean Marie, Letoffe; Pierre, Claudy; Marc, Garcin; John, Volle; Kök, Mustafa Verşan (1995-06-01)
Mixtures of 2 and 4 wt% of pure paraffins in a crude oil matrix and 14 crude oils were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (d.s.c.) and thermomicroscopy at a cooling rate of 2 K min(-1) in the temperature range from +80 to -20 degrees C. Pour points were also determined. In the temperature range used, a constant value of 200 J kg(-1) for the enthalpy of precipitation was determined. For crude oils which contain >10 wt% of n-paraffins, the pour point is reached when similar to 2 wt% of waxes h...

Oil shale kinetics by differential methods
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2007-06-01)
In this research, pyrolysis and combustion behavior of three different oil shale samples from Turkey were characterized using thermal analysis techniques (TG/DTG). In pyrolysis experiments, two different mechanisms causing mass loss were observed as distillation and cracking. In combustion experiments, two distinct exothermic peaks were identified known low and high temperature oxidation. On the other hand, determination of activation energies are required for the estimation of oil extraction conditions fro...
Production optimization of a gas condensate reservoir using a black oil simulator and nodal system analysis: a case study
Mindek, Cem; Bağcı, Suat; Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (2005)
In a natural gas field, determining the life of the field and deciding the best production technique, meeting the economical considerations is the most important criterion. In this study, a field in Thrace Basin was chosen. Available reservoir data was compiled to figure out the characteristics of the field. The data, then, formatted to be used in the commercial simulator, IMEX, a subprogram of CMG (Computer Modeling Group). The data derived from the reservoir data, used to perform a history match between t...
