Structure Function Analysis for Aminoglycoside 3 Phosphotransferase II APH 3 II
Kocabıyık, Semra (1992-02-01)
Mutant strains containing APH(3')-II were constructed via site-directed mutagenesis of the cloned gene and by random mutagenesis of a strain containing the APH(3')-II gene on a conjugative plasmid. Substitutions at highly conserved amino acid residues produced APH(3') enzymes which in general showed reduced activity and conferred reduced levels of resistance to their substrates. Substitutions at Tyr 218 altered substrate specificity for the enzymes. Random mutagenesis produced plasmid-borne mutations confer...
Structure - Function Analyses for Aminoglycoside 3'-Phosphotransferase-II [APH(3')-II]

Structure-based design, synthesis and anticancer effect of cyclic Smac-polyarginine peptides
Khalily, Melek Parlak; GEREKÇİ, Selin; Gulec, Ezgi A.; Özen, Can; Özçubukçu, Salih (2018-11-01)
The second mitochondria-derived activator of caspase (Smac/DIABLO) is a pro-apoptotic protein that released from mitochondria into the cytosol when cells undergo apoptosis. Smac promotes caspase activation by binding the inhibitors of apoptosis proteins (IAP), particularly XIAP and eliminating their inhibitory activity. Although the seven N-terminal amino acids AVPIAQK (SmacN7) of Smac protein is able to elicit an anticancer response by itself, it is neither cell-permeable nor stable in the cellular environ...
Structure sensitivity of selective CO oxidation over Pt/gamma-Al2O3
Atalik, B.; Üner, Deniz (Elsevier BV, 2006-07-25)
In this study, the effect of particle size on the reaction rate and selectivity of preferential oxidation of CO (PROX) reaction was investigated on 2 wt% Pt/-Al2O3 catalysts prepared by an incipient wetness technique. The particle size of the catalysts was modified by calcination temperature and duration. CO oxidation and preferential CO oxidation reaction were studied on these catalysts at lambda = 2 (P-O2/P-CO) = 1. The CO oxidation reaction activation energy decreased with increasing particle size, consi...
Structure-property relations in donor-acceptor-donor type benzimidazole containing conjugated polymers
ZAIFOGLU, Buket; HACIOGLU, Serife O.; UNLU, Naime A.; Çırpan, Ali; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2014-01-01)
In order to gain deeper insight about structure-property relations properties, two novel donor-acceptor-donor type monomers were studied. 4'-Tert-butyl-4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)spiro[benzo[d]imidazole-2,1'-cyclohexane] and 4,7di(2,2'-bithiophen-5-yl)-4'-tert-butylspiro[benzo[d]imidazole-2,1'-cyclohexane] were synthesized and electrochemically polymerized. Electrochemical and optical properties of the polymers were investigated via cyclic voltammetry and UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy techniques. It was found that chan...
