Attraction of Li-Yorke chaos by retarded SICNNs
Akhmet, Marat (Elsevier BV, 2015-01-05)
In the present study, dynamics of retarded shunting inhibitory cellular neural networks (SICNNs) is investigated with Li-Yorke chaotic external inputs and outputs. Within the scope of our results, we prove the presence of generalized synchronization in coupled retarded SICNNs, and confirm it by means of the auxiliary system approach. We have obtained more than just synchronization, as it is proved that the Li-yorke chaos is extended with its ingredients, proximality and frequent separation, which have not b...
Association and Fusion of Range-Azimuth Tracks
Balci, Ali Emre; Şahin, Kurtuluş Kerem; Kumru, Firat; Pektas, Fatih; Özkan, Emre; Orguner, Umut (2022-01-01)
In this paper, novel association and fusion methods for range-azimuth tracks are proposed. The association method requires calculating the distance between two tracks that lack elevation information. An iterative algorithm is proposed to find the closest distance between the two arcs defined by the range azimuth tracks. This procedure provides elevation information for track pairs, which is also used for the track fusion process. The performance of the algorithms is illustrated in experiments with simulated...
Manipulation of history and language in three dystopias
Ersoy, Duygu; Deveci, Cem; Department of Political Science and Public Administration (2006)
In this study, the manipulations of history and language in the dystopias of “Nineteen Eighty-Four” by George Orwell, “We” by Yevgeni Zamyatin and “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley are examined. The principal aim of this investigation is to demonstrate that in these imaginary societies absolute stability is achieved through the manipulations of these two domains. The thesis argues that if the domains of history and language are not taken under control, they are to provide the subjects with the standard of ...
Observation of a New Xi(b) Baryon
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (2012-06-01)
The observation of a new b baryon via its strong decay into Xi(-)(b)pi(+) (plus charge conjugates) is reported. The measurement uses a data sample of pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.3 fb(-1). The known Xi(-)(b) baryon is reconstructed via the decay chain Xi(-)(b) -> J/psi Xi(-) -> mu(+)mu(-)Lambda(0)pi(-), with Lambda(0) -> p pi(-). A peak is observed in the distribution of the difference between the mass of the Xi(-)...
Investigations of science teachers’ nature of engineering views
İrdem Ağrıman , Nurseli; Çakıroğlu, Jale; Canbazoğlu Bilici, Sedef; Department of Science Education (2022-9)
Today’s, STEM education come into our lives and our curriculum. Therefore, STEM education that is the interdisciplinary approach and combine science with technology, mathematics and engineering is new trend in Turkey, so the especially, science teacher that are considered as an important part of STEM education should be good at engineering skills and know how to provide engineering training for students. Therefore, the views of teachers about nature of engineering is very important. In this study, the aim i...
