GET Social Group Eye Tracking environment for social gaze analysis
Deniz, Ozan; Fal, Mehmetcan; Bozkurt, Ufuk; Acartürk, Cengiz (null; 2015-08-21)
From the perspective of social cognition research, low-cost eye trackers provide the appropriate technology for novel methods for designing experiments on group gaze data collection, an experimental environment that has not been available so far in an affordable way. The affordability of the eye tracker sensors has also been leading to the development of accompanying software tools that support their use in various user interaction environments. We have been developing an open software tool, GET-Social, for...

Born-Infeld extension of new massive gravity
Gullu, Ibrahim; Sisman, Tahsin Cagri; Tekin, Bayram (IOP Publishing, 2010-08-21)
We present a three-dimensional gravitational Born-Infeld theory which reduces to the recently found new massive gravity (NMG) at the quadratic level in the small curvature expansion and at the cubic order reproduces the deformation of NMG obtained from AdS/CFT. Our action provides a remarkable extension of NMG to all orders in the curvature and might define a consistent quantum gravity.
Not quite black holes as dark matter
Aydemir, Ufuk; Holdom, Bob; Ren, Jing (2020-07-01)
Primordial black holes that survive until the present have been considered as a dark matter candidate. In this paper we argue that primordial 2-2-hole remnants provide a more promising and testable alternative. 2-2-holes arise in quadratic gravity as a new family of classical solutions for ultracompact matter distributions and they possess the black hole exterior without an event horizon. They may serve as the endpoint of gravitational collapse, providing a resolution for the information loss problem. Intri...
