Response Surface Based Performance Analysis of an Air-Defense Missile System
Gunaydin, Kerem; Cimen, Tayfun; Tekinalp, Ozan (2014-03-08)
The overall performance of an Air Defense Missile System (ADMS), identified as the probability of hit (PoH) performance, is evaluated using full grid analysis approach and response surface approach. For this purpose, a very detailed six degrees of freedom missile simulation model is employed, which contains over 1000 parameters. These parameters are varied with prescribed uncertainties for performing Monte-Carlo runs to estimate the PoH of a hypothetical missile. Although such a high-fidelity model is neces...
Response surface based performance analysis of an air-defense missile system
Günaydın, Kerem; Tekinalp, Ozan; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2014)
In this thesis, response surface based performance analysis of an air defense missile system was performed. System performance defined as the probability of hit is determined using a conventional grid analysis in order to set up a control group. Then, some experiments were designed to construct response surfaces (RSM). Simulation model was run for these experiment points. Response surfaces for the whole operational area of an air defense missile system is developed using these experiments, so as to be able ...
Response Time and Heart Rate in a Moral Dilemma
Oyediran, Olusegun A.; Rivas, M. Fernanda (American Psychological Association (APA), 2017-03-01)
Is altruism the intuitive behavior in a moral dilemma? Or is selfishness the spontaneous behavior? To answer this question, a dictator game was played in which measures of response time and heart rates were taken with treatments that slightly differ only in the cost associated with the choice of a selfish responding. We find that neither altruism nor egoism is an intuitive process for everyone; rather, altruism is intuitive for altruistic subjects while egoism is intuitive for selfish subjects so that when ...
