Visualization of deep networks trained for bipolardisorder classification by using fnirs measurements
Oğuzhan, Babacan; Ulusoy, İlkay; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2021-2-03)
Deep learning applications have achieved impressive performances on many medi-cal problems such as classification of disorders, effects of a treatment or unspottedsymptoms of a disease, etc. While modern deep learning progress is impressive insuch areas, genuine understandings of its working principles are not clear. For thatmatter, the term black box has often been associated with deep learning algorithms. The majority of previous studies have concentrated on networks’ successes and havecomputed their per...
Visualization of the structure of vortex breakdown in free swirling jet flow
Vanierschot, Maarten; Perçin, Mustafa; Van Oudheusden, Bas W. (2016-07-04)
In this paper we investigate the three dimensional flow structures in a free annular swirling jet flow undergoing vortex breakdown. The flow field is analyzed by means of time-resolved Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry measurements. Both time-averaged and instantaneous flow structures are discussed, including a detailed analysis of the first and second order statistical moments. A Reynolds decomposition of the flow field shows that the time averaged flow is axisymmetric with regions of high anisotropic...
Visualizing transition diagrams of action language programs
Koc, O; Alpaslan, Ferda Nur; Cicekli, NK (2002-10-30)
The subject of action languages is one of the prominent research topics in current Artificial Intelligence (AI) research. One of the problems in teaching and learning action languages as well as writing causal theory expressions is the difficulty of visualizing transition diagrams in mind. A tool, called TDV, which extends CCALC [GL98b] and uses GraphViz[KN91] software, is developed to visualize transition diagrams of C programs.

Visualization of Atterberg Limits Test through a Virtual Soil Laboratory
Ozturk, Emre; Türkezer, Mehmet; Duman, Emre; Sarıçiçek, Yılmaz Emre; Kaya, Hazal Deniz; Arica, Emre Umut; Pekcan, Onur (2022-01-01)
In this study, the Atterberg limits tests (ASTM D4318 Standard Test Methods for Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, and Plasticity Index of Soils) are visualized by creating a game that presents a virtual soil lab environment via MATLAB App Designer. The environment consists of a graphical user interface (GUI), allowing students to gain hands-on experience on the test. In this environment, a specimen can be prepared by adding water to soils, then placed into a virtual Casagrande apparatus enhanced by animations an...
