Design and realization of A 0.5-5 GHz cascaded feedback amplifier
Korkmaz, İbrahim Cem; Koç, Seyit Sencer; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2015)
Wideband amplification is one of the most examined study areas in microwave engineering. In this thesis work, 2-stage amplifier operating in decade bandwidth of 0.5-5 GHz is designed, simulated and demonstrated using two different discrete transistors. Designed amplifier is based on cascaded feedback amplifier concept. In order to flatten the gain of the designed amplifier, feedback topology is applied to both stages. Primarily, first stage is designed and demonstrated with flat gain of 7.8±1.2 dB and minim...
Design of an active microstrip array using a microwave circuit simulator
Demir, S; Toker, Canan; Hizal, A (1997-02-26)
An active antenna array design and simulation of this design with a microwave circuit simulator are presented. This active antenna array is a TV receive only (TVRO) antenna operating at 10 GHz. It is a 8x4 array of rectangular microstrip patch antennas. Eight low noise pHEMTs are placed in the antenna. Passive antenna characteristics are usually obtained by analytical techniques or using special softwares for this purpose. The numerical representation as well as the nonreciprocal nature of the active device...
Design of a Power Plant Emulator for the Dynamic Frequency Stability Studies
Duymaz, Erencan; Pourkeivannour, Siamak; Ceylan, Doğa; ŞAHİN, İLKER; Keysan, Ozan (2018-10-25)
Increasing renewable energy integration to grid requires inertial support to improve frequency stability of the power system. Inertial support of renewable energy systems requires hardware verification in order to test practical limitations and absence of dynamical grid simulators makes verification studies more challenging. In this study, a test rig which is composed of a DC motor, an AC synchronous generator and an external flywheel, is developed in order to provide a platform in which dynamic properties ...
DESIGN OF A PIEZOELECTRIC ENERGY HARVESTERBY USING CYLINDER AS A BLUFF BODY
Avşar, Ahmet Levent; Şahin, Melin (2017-09-23)
In recent days, clean energy alternatives are searched and application of these alternatives are studied. One alternative method is used to smart material, such as piezoelectric material, to harvest energy. Energy can be harvested from vibrating structures by piezoelectric material due to its nature. By suitable design, piezoelectric material can generate electricity under vibratory loading. This electricity can also be used to operate part of the system. Especially, energy can be used to charge the batteri...
Design of a biosensor based on 1-(4-nitrophenyl)-2,5-di(2-thienyl)-1H pyrrole
Tuncagil, Sevinc; Varis, Serhat; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2010-07-01)
Immobilization of polyphenol oxidase (tyrosinase, E.C. 1.14.18.1) was achieved on a copolymer of 1-(4-nitrophenyl)-2,5-di(2-thieny1)-1H-pyrrole [SNS(NO2)] with pyrrole USNS(NO2)]/PPy) via electrochemical polymerization. Two different substrates; catechol and L-tyrosine were used for the characterization of biosensor. The kinetic parameters of the biosensor, maximum reaction rate of the enzyme (V-max) and Michaelis-Menten constant (K-m) were determined for two different substrates. V-max was found as 0.02 mu...
