Ag nanostructures on a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) film prepared with electrochemical route: A controllable roughened SERS substrate with high repeatability and stability
Dogan, Uzeyir; KAYA, MURAT; CİHANER, ATİLLA; Volkan, Mürvet (2012-12-15)
A simple, reliable and reproducible one-step electrochemical method for the preparation of surface-enhanced Raman-active polymer-mediated silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) on planar indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrates was reported. Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) film was used as a support material for dispersing nanostructured silver nanostructures on the surface homogeneously, since 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) monomer polymerizes regioregularly. The optical properties and morphologie...
Au/TiO2 nanorod-based Schottky-type UV photodetectors
Karaagac, Hakan; Aygun, Levent Erdal; Parlak, Mehmet; Ghaffari, Mohammad; Biyikli, Necmi; Okyay, Ali Kemal (2012-11-01)
TiO2 nanorods (NRs) were synthesized on fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) pre-coated glass substrates using hydrothermal growth technique. Scanning electron microscopy studies have revealed the formation of vertically-aligned TiO2 NRs with length of similar to 2 mu m and diameter of 110128 nm, homogenously distributed over the substrate surface. 130 nm thick Au contacts using thermal evaporation were deposited on the n-type TiO2 NRs at room temperature for the fabrication of NR-based Schottky-type UV photodete...
Abs/polyamide-6 blends, their short glass fiber composites and organoclay based nanocomposites: processing and characterization
Özkoç, Güralp; Bayram, Göknur; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2007)
The objective of this study is to process and characterize the compatibilized blends of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and polyamide-6 (PA6) using olefin based reactive copolymers and subsequently to utilize this blend as a matrix material in short glass fiber (SGF) reinforced composites and organoclay based nanocomposites by applying melt processing technique. In this context, commercially available epoxydized and maleated olefinic copolymers, ethylene-methyl acrylate-glycidyl methacrylate (EMA-GMA)...
Silver nanowire networks as transparent top electrodes for silicon solar cells
AURANG, Pantea; Doğanay, Doğa; Bek, Alpan; Turan, Raşit; Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah (Elsevier BV, 2017-01-01)
Losses caused by the metal top contacts still remain as an issue in crystalline silicon (Si) solar cells. One approach to eliminate shading losses is to utilise transparent nanostructure networks synthesised through rapid and low cost processes. In this work, the potential of highly conductive silver nanowire (Ag NW) networks as transparent top electrodes for the elimination of metallisation process in Si solar cells was investigated. Ag NW top contact cells were found to possess enhanced conversion efficie...
Ni-MCM-41 type mesoporous catalysts synthesized by one-pot hydrothermal procedure for steam reforming of ethanol
Ozdogan, Ekin; Doğu, Timur; DOĞU, GÜLŞEN (2007-01-02)
In the present study, Ni incorporated MCM-41 structured mesoporous catalysts with a Ni/Si atomic ratio of 0.036 and 0.15 were prepared by a direct hydrothermal synthesis procedure. These catalysts had surface area values of 860.5 m(2)/g (Ni-MCM-41 having a Ni/Si ratio of 0.036) and 944.9 m(2)/g (Ni-MCM-41 having a Ni/Si ratio of 0.15). They also had narrow pore size distributions with average pore diameters of 2.7-2.6 nm respectively. Ni MCM-41 synthesized by the one-pot hydrothermal synthesis procedure sho...
