Real-time Adaptive Camera Tamper Detection for Video Surveillance
SAĞLAM, Ali; Temizel, Alptekin (2009-09-04)
Criminals often resort to camera tampering to prevent capture of their actions. Real-time automated detection of video camera tampering cases is important for timely warning of the operators. Tampering is generally done by obstructing the camera view by a foreign object, displacing the camera and changing the focus of the camera lens. In automated camera tamper detection systems, low false alarm rates are important as reliability of these systems is compromised by unnecessary alarms and consequently the ope...
Real-time single frame superresolution
Tarhan, Cem; Akar, Gözde; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2014)
A demand in real-time applications for superresolution increases as the surveillance and low resolution camera usage is spread for cost optimization. In this thesis two real-time superresolution algorithms have been proposed. The first algorithm (NDUID) is composed of non-dyadic upsampling cascade for smooth interpolation and an edge enhancement block that uses a non-blind deconvolution. Second algorithm (EDAT) starts with Total Variation decomposition. The structure component is interpolated with a fast ed...
Real-Time Moving Target Search
Undeger, Cagatay; Polat, Faruk (2007-11-23)
In this paper, we propose a real-time moving target search algorithm for dynamic and partially observable environments, modeled as grid world. The proposed algorithm, Real-time Moving Target Evaluation Search (MTES), is able to detect the closed directions around the agent, and determine the best direction that avoids the nearby obstacles, leading to a moving target which is assumed to be escaping almost optimally. We compared our proposal with Moving Target Search (NITS) and observed a significant improvem...
Real-Time Moving Target Evaluation Search
Undeger, Cagatay; Polat, Faruk (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2009-05-01)
In this correspondence, we address the problem of real-time moving target search in dynamic and partially observable environments, and propose an algorithm called real-time moving target evaluation search (MTES). MTES is able to detect the closed directions around the agent and determines the estimated best direction to capture a moving target avoiding the obstacles nearby. We have also developed a new prey algorithm (Prey-A*) to test the existing and our predator algorithms in our experiments. We have obta...
Real-time FPGA firmware for VGA resolution infrared camera
Çevik, Kami; Akın, Tayfun; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2019)
Infrared cameras generally require pre-processing on raw image data in order to improve the output image quality. Raw output of the infrared cameras occupies a narrow part of the available dynamic range. Contrast enhancement is one of the pre-processing operations and used for improving dynamic range of the low contrast images. This thesis proposes an adaptive histogram equalization method for enhancing the contrast of long wavelength infrared camera output with 640×480 resolution and provides a FPGA implem...
