EQUIVALENT ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF LATTICES USING NON-UNIFORMLY DISTRIBUTED POINT CLOUD
Yormaz, Engin Ege; Tuncay, Kağan; Department of Civil Engineering (2022-11-22)
A method based on the equivalency of strain energy density is proposed for finding the elastic parameters of non-uniformly distributed lattice models in 2D with a Poisson’s ratio of 1/3. Lattice members are assumed to carry only normal force. Hence, the elasticity modulus times the area is the only defining parameter for each lattice member. The method is implemented in MATLAB and it is tested with regularly structured lattices whose solutions can be calculated exactly. A “User-Friendly Lattice Model P...
Equivalent linearization of 2-way fuzzy adaptive system under nonparametric uncertainty and inconsistency
Gurkan, E; Banks, SP; Erkmen, Aydan Müşerref; Erkmen, İsmet (2002-09-18)
Our aim in this paper is to design a 2-way fuzzy adaptive controller for a flexible robot arm and to analyze the stability of this controller using describing function technique. The 2-way fuzzy adaptive system is used in order to model the nonparametric uncertainties and inconsistencies present in the nonlinear system. The use of intuitionistic fuzzy sets in the 2-way fuzzy adaptive structure makes it possible to model such uncertainties. The proposed architecture is used as a controller for a flexible-joi...
Equivalent Circuit Models for Split-ring Resonator Arrays
Yasar-Orten, P.; Ekmekci, E.; Sayan, Gönül (2010-07-08)
In this study, a square-shaped single-ring SRR unit cell is modeled by using a suitable two-port resonant circuit representation that accounts for the conductor loss and dielectric loss effects as well. Capacitive and inductive coupling effects between adjacent SRR unit cells are also described by the two-port equivalent circuit approach. Finally, the resonance frequency of an infinitely long SRR array is estimated using its equivalent circuit model and compared to the value of the resonance frequency obtai...
