Preparation of cross-linked tyrosinase aggregates
Aytar, Burcu Selin; Bakir, Ufuk (Elsevier BV, 2008-02-01)
Tyrosinase from mushroom was immobilized as a cross-linked enzyme aggregate (CLEA) via precipitation with ammonium sulfate and cross-linking with glutaraldehyde. The effects of precipitation and cross-linking on CLEA activity were investigated and the immobilized tyrosinase was characterized. Sixty percent ammonium sulfate saturation and 2% glutaraldehyde were used; a 3-h cross-linking reaction at room temperature, at pH 7.0 was performed; particle sizes of the aggregates were reduced; consequently, 100% ac...
Preparation of lead zirconate by homogeneous precipitation and calcination
Oren, EE; Taspinar, E; Tas, AC (1997-10-01)
Antiferroelectric PbZrO3 has been synthesized by homogeneous precipitation from aqueous solutions in the presence of urea (NH2CONH2) and calcination for 6 h at 700 degrees C. SEM studies displayed the presence of submicrometer powder, with a significant degree of agglomeration.
Preparation of chabazite based Fenton-like heterogeneous catalyst and its organic micropollutant removal performance
Ali, Mohsin; Dilek, Filiz Bengü; İpek Torun, Bahar (2023-04-01)
Natural chabazite (CHA) is used for the first time as a heterogeneous catalyst in Fenton-like oxi- dation. Pretreatment techniques (NH4+-exchange, steam treatment, and Fe-exchange) were ap- plied to natural CHA to improve the available micropore and mesopore volume as well as to in- crease Fe-content. CHA samples were characterized by XRD, N2 adsorption, UV–Vis, SEM-EDX, ICP-OES, and MAS NMR to study the improvement after each pretreatment. Steam treatment at 675 °C and 20 kPa improved the mesopore volume o...
Preparation of a transparent hydrophilic TiO2 thin film photocatalyst
Chun, Hye-Yeon; Park, Sam-Sik; You, Sang-Hee; Kang, Gi-Hyeon; Bae, Won-Tae; Kim, Kwang-Wook; Park, Jong-Ee; Öztürk, Abdullah; Shin, Dong-Woo (2009-04-01)
A great deal of attention has been drawn to the coating of transparent photocatalytic TiO2 onto outdoor building materials, such as glass, the and stone, for utilizing the self-cleaning effect originating from the hydrophilic behavior of the coated layer under ultraviolet irradiation. Two key technologies should be developed for the successful commercialization of a hydrophilic photocatalyst, i.e., superior activity of the TiO2 sol, and a transparent and strong adhesive coating. A photocatalytic TiO2 Sol sh...
Preparation of conductive polybenzoxazines by oxidative polymerization
Kiskan, Baris; Yagci, Yusuf; Sahmetlioglu, Ertugrul; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Wiley, 2007-03-15)
precursors were prepared by oxidative polymerization 3-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[e][1,3] oxazine (P-a) alone and in the presence of thiophene (Th) with ceric ammonium nitrate in acetonitrile. The structure of the precursors was confirmed by FTIR, H-1 NMR, and DSC measurements, indicating the presence of a cyclic benzoxazine structure, together with small but varying amount of a ring opened phenolic structure. The resulting polymers exhibit conductivities around 10(-2) S cm(-1) and undergo thermal curing a...
