Unification of Stieltjes-Calogero type relations for the zeros of classical orthogonal polynomials
ALICI, HAYDAR; Taşeli, Hasan (2015-09-30)
The classical orthogonal polynomials (COPs) satisfy a second-order differential equation of the form sigma(x)y '' + tau(x)y' + lambda y = 0, which is called the equation of hypergeometric type (EHT). It is shown that two numerical methods provide equivalent schemes for the discrete representation of the EHT. Thus, they lead to the same matrix eigenvalue problem. In both cases, explicit closed-form expressions for the matrix elements have been derived in terms only of the zeros of the COPs. On using the equa...
Stability of differential equations with piecewise constant arguments of generalized type
Akhmet, Marat (Elsevier BV, 2008-02-15)
In this paper we continue to consider differential equations with piecewise constant argument of generalized type (EPCAG) [M.U. Akhmet, Integral manifolds of differential equations with piecewise constant argument of generalized type, Nonlinear Anal. TMA 66 (2007) 367-383]. A deviating function of a new form is introduced. The linear and quasilinear systems are under discussion. The structure of the sets of solutions is specified. Necessary and Sufficient conditions for stability of the zero Solution are ob...
Extension of spatiotemporal chaos in glow discharge-semiconductor systems
Akhmet, Marat; Rafatov, İsmail (2014-12-01)
Generation of chaos in response systems is discovered numerically through specially designed unidirectional coupling of two glow discharge-semiconductor systems. By utilizing the auxiliary system approach, [H. D. I. Abarbanel, N. F. Rulkov, and M. M. Sushchik, Phys. Rev. E 53, 4528-4535 (1996)] it is verified that the phenomenon is not a chaos synchronization. Simulations demonstrate various aspects of the chaos appearance in both drive and response systems. Chaotic control is through the external circuit e...
Application of Several Boundary Conditions for Bi-anisotropic Metamaterial Structures and Investigation of Electromagnetic Response
Uçkun, Savaş(2015-09-04)
—The effects of electromagnetic coupling on constitutive S-Parameters of bi-anisotropically designed metamaterial (MM) structure with several boundary conditions (PEC, PMC, UC) are analyzed. It is disclosed that in addition to the main electromagnetic coupling effect on the constitutive parameters of resonating MM structure, boundary conditions have an influence on this coupling effect because of the different imaging properties of the boundaries. The effects of electric and magnetic excitations on SRR and ...
Extension of plurisubharmonic functions in the Lelong class
Yazıcı, Özcan (2014-01-01)
Let X be an algebraic subvariety of Cn and X be its closure in Pn. In their paper (J. Reine Angew. Math. 676 (2013), 33-49), Coman, Guedj and Zeriahi proved that any plurisub- harmonic function with logarithmic growth on X extends to a plurisubharmonic function with logarithmic growth on Cn when the germs (X, a) in Pn are irreducible for all a ∈ X\X. In this pa- per we consider X for which the germ (X, a) is reducible for some a ∈ X \X and we give a necessary and sufficient condition for X so that any pluri...
