The economic lot-sizing problem with remanufacturing options
Van Den Heuvel , Wilco; Bayındır, Zeynep Pelin; Teunter, Ruud; Wagelmans , Albert (null; 2005-07-11)
We consider an extension of the economic lot-sizing problem. Besides producing new items there is an option of remanufacturing returned items to satisfy demand. We show that the problem is polynomially solvable in the case of a single production line and NP-hard in the case of dedicated production lines.
The pros and cons of flocking in the long-range "migration" of mobile robot swarms
Gokce, Fatih; Şahin, Erol (2010-05-06)
In this paper, we study how flocking affects the accuracy and speed of individuals in long-range "migration". Specifically, we extend a behavior that can generate self-organized flocking in a swarm of robots to follow a homing direction sensed through the magnetic field of the Earth and evaluate how the final points reached by the flock are scattered in space and how the speed of the flock is affected. We propose that four factors influence the performance of migration, in the proposed behavior, namely: (1)...
The factors making first-year university students vulnerable to pathological eating attitudes
Mançe, Öykü; Gençöz, Faruk; Department of Psychology (2006)
The purpose of the present study was to find out variables that make first year university students vulnerable to eating disorders. The Predictors of English language preparatory school instructors' self-efficacy beliefs
Ülkümen, Hatice Aslı; Çapa Aydın, Yeşim; Department of Curriculum and Instruction (2013)
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether university type, years of teaching experience, mastery experience, undergraduate major, colleague support, and administration support would predict EFL instructors’ self efficacy beliefs for classroom management, instructional strategies, and student engagement. A total of 285 English language instructors from nine universities in Ankara constituted the participants of the study. The data were collected through a five-section scale, consisting of the Turk...
The common strengths and weakness of preservice science teachers in microteaching
Atasoy, Volkan; Çakıroğlu, Jale (2015-06-07)
In the current study, it was aimed to determine common weaknesses and strengths of microteaching of preservice science teachers. For this purpose, the microteachings of 34 preservice science teachers in science methods course were examined with the help of rating scale developed by the researcher. In the analysis, it was found that preservice science teachers had common strengths in microteaching which are concerning using time efficiently, being fair in classroom atmosphere and relationship with students, ...
