What factors affect technology acceptance have been studied in a variety of contexts through different models. However, the affective dimension and the roles emotions play in technology acceptance or adoption studies were not studied thoroughly. Being a part of a larger study, this study aims to investigate what emotions pre-service teachers feel when they use or consider the use of Web 2.0 tools. The data were collected using Technology Affect Scale developed and validated by Perlusz (2004). The participants of this study are 211 pre- service teachers from Foreign Language Education and Early Childhood Education. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, and the factor structure was validated through confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed that among the positive affect, pre-service teachers mostly felt enthusiastic (M=3.65), and among the negative affect, pre-service teachers mostly felt distressed (M=2.51). Furthermore, when the total scores of the positive (M=13.88) and negative affect (M= 10.03) were compared, the results of the paired-samples t test showed that pre-service significantly felt positive affect (p < .05).

Analyses of factors affecting acceptance of homecare technologies by patients with chronic diseases
Kutlay, Ayşegül; Mumcuoğlu, Ünal Erkan; Department of Medical Informatics (2012)
In this study, the factors affecting the acceptance of mobile homecare system were examined. These factors were assessed by taking Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) as a theoretical model. The main feature of this thesis (differing from the other studies in the literature) is that the user acceptance study model is analyzed on a system that is not realized yet. So, this study has two dfferent perspectives. The first one is the examination the results of UTAUT for a system in the des...
