girdap: Open source object-oriented autonomous grid management library for solving equations of conservation laws
Uzgoren, Eray (Elsevier BV, 2017-10-12)
girdap is an object-oriented grid generation and management library that uses finite volume operator objects to provide researchers and educators a framework to solve different sets of algebraic and differential equations on multiple grid objects, which are allowed to interact with each other. Grid objects have the capability of performing local anisotropic grid refinement (h-adaptation) as well as relocating their vertices (r-adaptation) to resolve length scales based on solution field obtained using algeb...
HPRNet: Hierarchical point regression for whole-body human pose estimation
SAMET, NERMİN; Akbaş, Emre (2021-11-01)
In this paper, we present a new bottom-up one-stage method for whole-body pose estimation, which we call “hierarchical point regression,” or HPRNet for short. In standard body pose estimation, the locations of ~17 major joints on the human body are estimated. Differently, in whole-body pose estimation, the locations of fine-grained keypoints (68 on face, 21 on each hand and 3 on each foot) are estimated as well, which creates a scale variance problem that needs to be addressed. To handle the scale variance ...
CEIT undergraduate students’ perceptions and preferences of formative feedback, and the relationship of these perceptions and preferences with their learning approaches
Şat, Mustafa; Can, Gülfidan; Department of Curriculum and Instruction (2013)
Formative feedback in project-based courses helps students either group or individual to deal with complex tasks and problems and facilitates their project and report development. This study investigates CEIT undergraduate students’ perceptions and preferences for formative feedback given for their projects and reports. The study also examines the relationship of these perceptions and preferences with the type of their learning approaches (Deep vs. Surface). Sequential exploratory mixed methods research des...
Cepstral deconvolution method for measurement of absorption and scattering coefficients of materials
Aslan, Gökhan; Çalışkan, Mehmet; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2006)
Several methods are developed to measure absorption and scattering coefficients of materials. In this study, a new method based on cepstral deconvolution technique is proposed. A reverberation room method standardized recently by ISO (ISO 17497-1) is taken as the reference for measurements. Several measurements were conducted in a physically scaled reverberation room and results are evaluated according to these two methods, namely, the method given in the standard and cepstral deconvolution method. Two meth...
CEREBRA: a 3-D visualization and processing tool for brain network extracted from fMRI data
Nasır, Barış; Yarman Vural, Fatoş Tunay; Department of Computer Engineering (2017)
In this thesis, we introduce a new tool, CEREBRA, for visualizing 3D network of human brain, extracted from the functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data. The tool aims to visualize the selected voxels as the nodes of the network and the edge weights are estimated by modeling the relationships among the voxel time series as a set of linear regression equations. This way, researchers can analyze the active brain regions/voxels and observe the interactions among them by analyzing the edge weights and ...
