Functional stratification of cancer drugs through integrated network similarity
Beyge, Seyma Unsal; Tunçbağ, Nurcan (2022-04-01)
Drugs not only perturb their immediate protein targets but also modulate multiple signaling pathways. In this study, we explored networks modulated by several drugs across multiple cancer cell lines by integrating their targets with transcriptomic and phosphoproteomic data. As a result, we obtained 236 reconstructed networks covering five cell lines and 70 drugs. A rigorous topological and pathway analysis showed that chemically and functionally different drugs may modulate overlapping networks. Additionall...
Functional Cellulose Microspheres for Potential Biomedical and Cosmetological Applications
Türkyılmaz, Serhan; Demirel, Kaan; Demir, Başak Burçak; Akdiş, Yasemin; Yılmaz, Ozan (2022-02-18)
Cellulose microspheres2 (CMs, alt. cellulose beads) are cellulosic microparticles with diameters in the 10-1000 µm range. These biodegradable microparticles have been used as stationary phases in regular, reversed phase, size exclusion and ion exchange chromatographies, and as supports for protein immobilization, solid-phase synthesis, and pharmaceutical loading and release. Furthermore, since cellulose and CMs are very biocompatible, they have been used in some biomedical applications such as the dressing ...

Structural and thermal characterization of PTSA doped polypyrrole-polytetrahydrofuran graft copolymer
Özdilek, Ceren; Hacaloğlu, Jale; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Yagč, Yusuf (2004-01-06)
The thermal degradation processes of p-toluene sulfonate (PTS) doped polypyrrole (PPY) grown from the pyrrole moiety located at both the ends of polytetrahydrofuran (PTHF) have been studied by direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry (DPMS) to gain structural information. To get a better insight, pyrolysis analysis on corresponding homopolymers, PTHF and PPY, have also been carried out. The DPMS data were in accordance with TGA results indicating a significant decrease in thermal stability of the copolymer with r...
