Using a performance-based earthquake engineering (PBEE) approach to estimate structural performance targets for bridges
Gülerce, Zeynep (2013-01-01)
Performance-based seismic evaluation aims to provide information on expected seismic performance of structures in measurable and meaningful terms for decision makers (performance objectives). The Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research (PEER) Center utilized the performance-based earthquake engineering (PBEE) framework by linking the earthquake scenarios, design ground motions, structural demand, and performance variables. PBEE procedure may be simplified by decoupling the evaluation of the design ground mo...
Using a personality-oriented job analysis to identify attributes to be assessed in officer selection
Sümer, Hayriye Canan; Sumer, N; Demirutku, K; Cifci, OS (2001-01-01)
The purpose of this research was to identify personality constructs to be assessed in the selection of officers in the Turkish Armed Forces by using a personality-oriented job analysis approach. Personality-oriented job analytic interviews were conducted with currently employed and former officers (N = 78). Content analysis of the interviews led to the identification of a list of attributes presumed to be relevant. The attributes were then rated by a group of officers (N = 447) for relevance and importance....
