Efficiency improvement of power amplifiers without degraded linearity using a new topology and control method
Ronaghzadeh, Amin; Demir, Şimşek (2011-11-21)
This paper presents a medium-power amplifier designed in class AB at 2.4 GHz with two transistors of the same type in parallel. Keeping the drain bias of the transistors constant, it is demonstrated that by careful selection of the transistor and dynamically tuning the gate bias of the individual devices and output matching of the whole amplifier according to input drive level, an increase of about 40% in PAE is achieved at 7 dB back-off from the P1dB of the class AB amplifier employing a fixed bias and mat...
Efficiency Control of Single Phase Induction Motor Drive
Asadabadi, Y. Abdellahi; Markadeh, Gh. R. Arab; Soltani, J.; Heidar, R. (2011-09-10)
Single-phase induction motors are widely used in home appliances and industrial control. The multispeed operation and multipurpose operation are provided by controlling the speed of these motors. This paper presents variable-frequency motor drive system implemented by PWAI voltage source inverter, to improve a single-phase induction machine (SIM) efficiency.
Efficiency Optimization of a Direct Torque Controlled Induction Motor used in Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Sergaki, Eleftheria S.; Moustaizis, Stavros D. (2011-09-10)
The main contribution of this paper is the application of Loss Minimization control algorithm of a three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor which is used in parallel with an internal combustion engine (ICE), in hybrid electric vehicles (HEY). During steady state operation of the electric motor, the electric motor's optimal motor flux profile minimizes the electric motor losses and maximizes the overall HEN efficiency, hybridization factor (HF). During steady state operation of the direct torque controlled ...
Efficiency analysis of load balancing games with and without activation costs
Chen, Bo; Gürel, Sinan (2012-04-01)
In this paper, we study two models of resource allocation games: the classical load-balancing game and its new variant involving resource activation costs. The resources we consider are identical and the social costs of the games are utilitarian, which are the average of all individual players' costs.
