Graphene-enabled electrically controlled terahertz spatial light modulators
Kakenov, Nurbek; Takan, Taylan; ÖZKAN, VEDAT ALİ; Balci, Osman; Polat, Emre O.; Altan, Hakan; KOCABAŞ, COŞKUN (2015-05-01)
In this Letter, we demonstrate a broadband terahertz (THz) spatial light modulator using 5 x 5 arrays of large area graphene supercapacitors. Our approach relies on controlling spatial charge distribution on a passive matrix array of patterned graphene electrodes. By changing the voltage bias applied to the rows and columns, we were able to pattern the THz transmittance through the device with high modulation depth and low operation voltage. We anticipate that the simplicity of the device architecture with ...
Graphene oxide-doped PEDOT:PSS as hole transport layer in inverted bulk heterojunction solar cell
Ozcan, Sefika; Erer, Mert Can; Vempati, Sesha; Uyar, Tamer; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2020-02-01)
Transparent poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is widely used hole conducting material in optoelectronic devices. Secondary doping of PEDOT:PSS enables the tunability of its electronic properties. In this work, graphene oxide (GO) was used as a secondary dopant for PEDOT:PSS and the doped materials (composites) were tested for their efficiency as hole transport material in inverted bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cell. The composites were studied to unveil the effects of ...
Graphene oxide/magnesium oxide nanocomposite: A novel catalyst for ozonation of phenol from wastewater
Heidarizad, Mahdi; Şengör, Sema Sevinç (2017-01-01)
Catalytic ozonation is a promising advanced oxidation technique for the removal of contaminants from water and wastewater. Graphene oxide (GO) is an oxidized derivative of graphene which contains epoxide, hydroxyl, and carboxyl groups with high surface area, and is being recently used for effective adsorption of pollutants in aquatic environments. In our previous work, we modified GO with magnesium oxide (MgO) and demonstrated the high-rate adsorption of methylene blue (MB) by the synthesized nanocomposite ...
Graphene-based wideband metamaterial absorber for solar cells application
Rufangura, Patrick; Sabah, Cumali (2017-07-01)
A wideband metamaterial (MTM) absorber based on a concentric ring resonator is discussed at visible frequencies. The proposed structure offers a wideband absorption response, where absorption of >70% is gained for the frequency ranging from 537.91 to 635.73 THz. The analysis is conducted on the components of the proposed structure to understand the origin of wideband absorption. Furthermore, a graphene monolayer sheet is integrated to the proposed MTM absorber to optimize its absorptivity, where the studies...
