The absol. configuration of a Ciramadol analogue obtained from (-)-menthone is established by H-1-NMR-, simulated NMR-, COSY-90-, and NOE-measurements. The final compound 2-(alpha-1-pyrrolidino)benzyl-4-isopropyl-1-methyl-cyclohexan-3-one (4b), e.g., has 1R,2S,4S,11S-configuration due to stereoselective Michael-type addition of pyrrolidine to the pertinent benzylidene intermediate 3.

AYDEMİR, MURAT; BAYSAL, AKIN; ŞAHİN, Ertan; Gumgum, Bahattin; Özkar, Saim (Elsevier BV, 2011-11-30)
Reaction of furfurylamine with 1 or 2 equivalents of PPh2Cl in the presence of Et3N, proceeds under anaerobic conditions in thf to give furfuryl-2-(N-diphenylphosphino)amine, Ph2PNHCH2-C4H3O, 1 and furfuryl-2-(N,N-bis(diphenylphosphino)amine), (Ph2P)(2)NCH2-C4H3O, 2, respectively. The reactions of 1 and 2 with MCl2(cod) (M = Pd, Pt; cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) or Pt(CH3)(2)(cod) yield complexes [M(Ph2PNHCH2-C4H3O)(2)Cl-2] (M= Pd 1a, Pt 1b), [Pt(Ph2PNHCH2-C4H3O)(2)(CH3)(2)] (1c), and [M((Ph2P)(2) NCH2-C4H3O)Cl...
Amino Acid Conjugated Spiropyrans: Synthesis and Photoisomerization Studies
Şentürk, Bengi; Akdağ, Akın (2022-09-01)
Among photo-switchable compounds, spiropyrans have attracted significant attention owing to their multi-responsiveness towards a change in the pH, solvent polarity, and temperature, along with light. Upon exposure to the external stimulants, the merocyanine form is obtained due to bond cleavage between spiro carbon and oxygen, which transforms the optically active spiropyrans into an achiral form. The back conversion of the resulting achiral merocyanine form to the spiropyrans brings about a racemic mixture...
