For The Sake Of Mathematics Education Research, MAXQDA: An Alternative Analysis Way For Solutions Of Algebraic Word Problems

2015-05-23
The purpose of this study is to understand how MAXQDA, a computer assisted qualitative data analysis software, helped to analyze mathematical solutions involving pictorial representation and algebraic syntax, and to discuss the challenges which have been experienced with CAQDAS packages, in particular MAXQDA, in coding and analyzing the algebraic solutions of the math problems.

An experimental comparison of symbolic and neural learning algorithms
Baykal, Nazife (1998-04-23)
In this paper comparative strengths and weaknesses of symbolic and neural learning algorithms are analysed. Experiments comparing the new generation symbolic algorithms and neural network algorithms have been performed using twelve large, real-world data sets.
THE INVESTIGATION OF NOVICE PROGRAMMERS' DEBUGGING BEHAVIORS TO INFORM INTELLIGENT E-LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS: A CASE STUDY
TÜRKMEN, GAMZE; Caner, Sonay (Turkish Online Journal of Distance Education, 2020-07-01)
This study aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth investigation of the debugging process in programming teaching in terms of cognitive and metacognitive aspects, based on programming students who demonstrate low, medium, and high programming performance and to propose instructional strategies for scaffolding novice learners in an effective way. Data were collected from 41 novice programming students from C++ and Python programming language courses of the same instructor in the scope of case study meth...
The effect of design patterns on object-oriented metrics and software error-proneness
Aydınöz, Barış; Bilgen, Semih; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2006)
This thesis study investigates the connection between design patterns, OO metrics and software error-proneness. The literature on OO metrics, design patterns and software error-proneness is reviewed. Different software projects and synthetic source codes have been analyzed to verify this connection.
The role of dynamic geometry software on mathematical creativity of pre-service mathematics teachers in geometry tasks
Melek, Zülal; Çakıroğlu, Erdinç; Department of Mathematics Education (2021-7-14)
The purpose of the study was to investigate the role of the dynamic geometry software on mathematical creativity of pre-service mathematics teachers in geometry tasks. The sample of the present study was five pre-service mathematics teachers in a public university in Ankara. The sample of the study was selected by the convenience sampling method from the pre-service mathematics teachers who took Exploring Geometry with Dynamic Geometry Applications course. The pre service mathematics teachers asked to...
