A Sustainable approach to urban regeneration process by SWOT analysis
Cin, Mehmet Melih (2016-01-01)
Inner city deprived areas are valuable lands which have economical and social problems in addition to its physical conditions. Therefore, Turkey introduced interventions to these urban areas in order to improve the physical, social and economical conditions. However, interventions cause more problems rather than solving the existent ones such as; gentrifications, unemployment of inhabitant, loss of social and urban tissue. Problems consist of undetermined conditions of areas before or during implementation ...
A Multivariate Approach to Assessing Anaerobic Power Following a Plyometric Training Program
Koçak, Mehmet Settar (Ovid Technologies (Wolters Kluwer Health), 1997-01-01)
This study used a multivariate approach to assess anaerobic power in 20 athletes and 20 nonathletes undergoing 6 weeks of plyometric training, and 20 controls. A 3 x 2 mixed model MANOVA was done to analyze the pre-and posttest scores of vertical jump, 50-m dash, and Margaria-Kalamen stairclimbing test. The Group x Test interaction was significant (p < 0.001). Both groups that underwent plyometric training improved significantly (p < 0.01) on all tests of anaerobic power. Of the dependent measures, the Marg...
A multiobjective approach to energy environment planning problem
Arikan, Y; Kilic, C (1996-05-16)
The energy planning problem has gained a new dimension in view of the effects of energy production and consumption on environmental decline and ecological damage. The problem was usually formulated in total cost minimization form and the environmental effects of energy activities were not taken into account. It has been well understood now that decisions concerning energy supply cannot be based on a single objective, since energy policies have multiple consequences which cannot and should not be ignored. Th...

A Multiobjective approach to assembly line part feeding problem
Kızılyıldırım, Ramazan; Karasakal, Esra; Department of Industrial Engineering (2018)
The change in product diversity and sense of quality to increase customer satisfaction has also affected the design and management of assembly lines. Keeping the amount of stock at desired levels to provide parts to the assembly line and prevent the accumulation of stocks at assembly line has become an increasingly challenging problem for manufacturing companies that have high product diversity and high model variability. Increasing the number of vehicles might be a solution to control stock level but this ...
