X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy for resistance-capacitance measurements of surface structures
Ertaş, Gülay; Atalar, A; Suzer, S (2005-05-02)
In x-ray photoemission measurements, differential charging causes the measured binding energy difference between the Si 2p of the oxide and the silicon substrate to vary nonlinearly as a function of the applied external do voltage stress, which controls the low-energy electrons going into and out of the sample. This nonlinear variation is similar to the system where a gold metal strip is connected to the same voltage stress through an external 10 Mohm series resistor and determined again by x-ray photoelect...
X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study on the photodegradation of copolyester model compounds
Arangdad, Kiarash; Yıldırım, Erol; Detwiler, Andrew; Cleven, Curtis D.; Burk, Christopher; Shamey, Renzo; Pasquinelli, Melissa A.; Freeman, Harold; El-Shafei, Ahmed (Wiley, 2020-07-01)
The photodegradation of irradiated PETG and PCCT model compounds namely Tm-CHDM-Tm and Tm-TMCD-Tm, where Tm refers to the methyl ester of terephthalic acid, CHDM refers to 1, 4-cyclohexanedimethanol, and TMCD refers to tetramethyl-1, 3-cyclobutanediol, was analyzed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Photodegradation products were characterized based on high resolution O(1s)x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) spectra and the spectra of irradiated model compounds showed a decrease in the relative inte...
X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic characterization of Au collected with atom trapping on silica for atomic absorption spectrometry
Suzer, S; Ertas, N; Kumser, S; Ataman, Osman Yavuz (1997-10-01)
The nature of analyte species collected on a cooled silica tube for atom-trapping atomic absorption spectrometric determination was investigated with the use of X-ray photoelctron spectroscopy (XPS). An XPS spectrum of gold deposited on atom-trapping silica tubes reveals a Au 4f(7/2) peak with a binding energy of 84.8 (+/-0.2) eV, which falls in the middle of the binding energies corresponding to zerovalent Au(0) at 84.0 eV and that of monovalent Au(I) at 85.2 eV, The corresponding energy for Au vapor depos...
X-ray powder diffraction and IR study of NaMg(H2O)(2)[BP2O8]center dot H2O and NH4Mg(H2O)(2)[BP2O8]center dot H2O
Baykal, Altan; Kniep, R (2000-09-01)
NaMg(H2O)(2)[BP2O8]. H2O was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and was characterized by X-ray powder difraction and IR method. The title compound was synthesized from MgCl2. 6H(2)O, NaBO3. 4H(2)O, and (NH4)(2)HPO4 with variable molar ratios using hydrothermal method by heating at 165 degrees C for 3 days. The X-ray powder diffraction data was indexed in hexagonal system, the unit cell parameters were found to be as a = 9.428, c = 15.82 Angstrom, Z = 4 and the space group is P6(1)22. It is isostructural wit...
X-ray diffraction data for flux-grown calcium hydroxyapatite whiskers
Tas, AC (2001-06-01)
Calcium hydroxyapatite (Ca-l10(PO4)(6)(OH)(2)) whiskers were prepared by using the technique of molten salt synthesis with the fluxing agent of potassium sulphate (K2SO4). A tentative x-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern was suggested for the produced whiskers. Phase purity, composition, and morphology of the whiskers were investigated by powder XRD, inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. (C) 2001 internati...
