Nontraditional Attitude Filtering with Simultaneous Process and Measurement Covariance Adaptation
Hacızade, Cengiz; Söken, Halil Ersin; Cilden-Guler, Demet (American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), 2019-09-01)
This study discusses simultaneous adaptation of the process and measurement noise covariance matrixes for a nontraditional attitude filtering algorithm. The nontraditional attitude filtering algorithm integrates the singular value decomposition (SVD) method with the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) to estimate the attitude of a nanosatellite. The SVD method uses magnetometer and Sun sensor measurements as the first stage of the algorithm and estimates the attitude of the nanosatellite, giving one estimate at a...
Nonblocking Hierarchical Control of Decentralized Discrete Event Systems
Schmidt, Klaus Verner; PERK, SEBASTIAN (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2008-11-01)
This contribution investigates the hierarchical control of decentralized discrete event systems (DES) that are synchronized by shared events. A hierarchical control architecture providing hierarchical consistency is introduced. Moreover, it allows for composition of decentralized subsystems on the high-level of the hierarchy and hence reduces the computational complexity of supervisory control synthesis for language inclusion specifications. In this context, a crucial issue is the nonblocking operation of t...
Nonintrusive model order reduction for cross-diffusion systems
Karasözen, Bülent; Mülayim, Gülden; Uzunca, Murat (2022-12-01)
In this paper, we investigate tensor based nonintrusive reduced-order models (ROMs) for parametric cross-diffusion equations. The full-order model (FOM) consists of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) in matrix or tensor form resulting from finite difference discretization of the differential operators by taking the advantage of Kronecker structure. The matrix/tensor differential equations are integrated in time with the implicit–explicit (IMEX) Euler method. The reduced bases, relying on a finite sample...
Nonblocking hierarchical control of decentralized des
Schmidt, Klaus Verner; Moor, Thomas (null; 2005-12-01)
This work considers a hierarchical control architecture for a class of discrete event systems which can also be applied to decentralized control systems. It is shown that nonblocking supervisory control on the high level of the hierarchy results in nonblocking and hierarchically consistent control on the low level. Copyright © 2005 IFAC.
