PWM inverter harmonics contributions to the inverter-fed induction machine bearing fault diagnosis
Akin, Bilal; Toliyat, Hamid A.; Orguner, Umut; Rayner, Mark (2007-03-01)
The effects of inverter harmonics on motor current fault signatures are studied in detail in this paper. According to theory and experimentation, the fault signatures caused by the inverter harmonics are similar and comparable to those generated by the fundamental harmonic of the line current. Unlike the utility-driven motor, monitoring the current of the inverter-fed motor is considerably noisy, which can mask the fault signatures and render a wrong fault warning. Therefore, the proposed additional fault d...
PbTe Quantum Dots and Engineering of the Energy Band Alignment in Photovoltaic Applications
Haciefendioğlu, Tuğba; Asil Alptekin, Demet (2021-09-01)
Lead telluride (PbTe) quantum dots, despite being considered as one of the most promising candidates for future photovoltaics owing to their higher multiple exciton generation yields, have received limited attention in solar cell designs due their less explored surface chemistry and high air sensitivity. This study demonstrates the synthesis and characterization of highly crystalline PbTe QDs and their utilization in solution processed solar cells through band alignment engineering. Ultraviolet photoelectro...
Pnma metal hydride system LiBH: a superior topological semimetal with the coexistence of twofold and quadruple degenerate topological nodal lines
Zhou, Feng; Ding, Guangqian; Cheng, Zhenxiang; Surucu, Gokhan; Chen, Hong; Wang, Xiaotian (IOP Publishing, 2020-08-01)
To date, a handful of topological semimetals (TMs) with multiple types of topological nodal line (TNL) states have been theoretically predicted in novel materials. However, their TNLs are often affected by many factors, such as spin-orbit coupling (SOC) effect, strain, and the extraneous bands near the band crossing points, and therefore, the TNL states cannot be easily verified by experiments. Here, by using first-principles calculations, we report that the Pnma LiBH is a potential TM with twofold and quad...
Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O-3 films on stainless steel by chemical solution deposition
Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit (2004-01-01)
The present work describes the preparation of Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O-3 thin films by chemical solution deposition. Lead acetate, zirconium propoxide and titanium isopropoxide were used as starting materials. Substrates used were stainless steel foils of 0.025 mm, thick (AISI 304). The preparation of stock solution and heat treatment procedure was described. Crack-free films were obtained by multilayer coating in which the viscosity of the solution was adjusted such that each layer was approximately 0.2 mum thick...
