Folic acid functionalized PEG coated magnetic nanoparticles for targeting anti-cancer drug delivery: Preparation, characterization and cytotoxicity on Doxorubicin, Zoledronic acid and Paclitaxel resistant MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines
Keskin, Tugba; Yalcin, Serap; Gündüz, Ufuk (2018-01-01)
In this study, MNPs were synthesized, coated with biocompatible polyethylene glycol (PEG) and conjugated with folic acid. Crystal and chemical structures, shape, size and magnetic properties of synthesized nanoparticles were characterized. Agglomeration tendency of naked nanoparticles were prevented by oleic acid addition during the synthesis. All synthesized MNPs have been found to exhibit superparamagnetic behavior at 23 degrees C and 37 degrees C. Cytotoxic effects of MNPs were investigated on Doxorubici...
Ferric-chelate Reductase: Could it be Used as an Alternative Method to Understand Iron Sensitivity in Soybean?

STORAX CONTAINING HYDROXYETHYL CHITOSAN -CARRAGEENAN HYDROGEL / ASYMMETRIC POLYCAPROLACTONE MEMBRANE BILAYER WOUND DRESSING
Nakipoğlu, Mustafa; Tezcaner, Ayşen; Özen, Can; Department of Biotechnology (2023-1-18)
Despite the advancement of modern technology, wound care is still based on traditional methods such as suture, staple and gauze around the world. Although, these methods provide affordable treatment for various types of wounds, they fall short in easy and effective treatment to facilitate healing process. Enabling a quicker and more convenient wound healing necessitates a comprehensive approach to wound dressing development to include simple yet multifunctional and versatile designs. In this work, we focuse...
Collagen Based Multilayer Scaffolds for Meniscus Tissue Engineering: In Vivo Test Results. Biomater Med Appl 2: 1
Albana Ndreu, Halili; Karahan, Siyami; Kürüm, Barış; Hasırcı, Vasıf Nejat (2018-04-01)
Meniscus is an important component of the knee joint since it performs several crucial functions such as shock absorption, load bearing and transmission, maintenance of joint stability, and lubrication. The results of common meniscal injury repair approaches are not fully satisfactory with low mechanical properties and long regeneration times. A 3D collagen-based construct consisting of multilayers of lyophilized sponges separated by electrospun fibrous mats was prepared previously to serve as a substitute ...
Ferromagnetic Target Detection and Localization with a Wireless Sensor Network
Antepli, Mehmet Akif; Gurbuz, Sevgi Zubeyde; Uysal, Elif (2010-11-03)
This work attempts to address challenges of using magnetic sensors for target detection, localization and tracking with a wireless sensor network (WSN). A WSN comprised of magnetic sensors was constructed to investigate the modeling, detection, and localization of ferrous targets. The system was established as a centralized tree-based wireless network with a PC acting as the fusion center. A heavy cylindrical iron bar was used as a test target and modeled as a magnetic dipole. The magnetic signal models use...
