One home two women: sexual experience and sexual knowledge transmission from mother to daughter in Turkey
Çöllü Kuzucuoğlu, Nur; Ecevit, Mehmet C.; Department of Gender and Women's Studies (2019)
Sexuality is more than a word, it depends on familial relations, interaction, knowledge and experience. Like sexuality, sexual socialization also refers to knowledge and experience. How women are sexually socialized is a significant problematic for the feminist theory. Every woman has a unique recollection of her sexual socialization; these memories belong to childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The current study emphasizes how sexual experience and sexual knowledge are transmitted from mother to daughter ...
One-warehouse multi-retailer problem under inventory control and transportation policies
Solyalı, Oğuz; Süral, Haldun; Department of Industrial Engineering (2008)
We consider a one-warehouse multi-retailer system where the warehouse orders or receives from its supplier and replenishes multiple retailers with direct shipping or multi-stop routing over a finite time horizon. The warehouse has the knowledge of external (deterministic) demands at the retailers and manages their inventories while ensuring no stock-out. We consider two problems with direct shipping policy and two problems with routing policy. For the direct shipping policy, the problem is to determine the ...
Single-pellet moment-technique for the study of non-catalytic gas-solid reactions-reaction of sulfur dioxide with activated soda.

Single station sigma for Turkish strong motion stations
Akkar, Sinan; Ertuğrul, Zehra (2017-01-01)
As ground motion observations over long enough time periods are unavailable for majority of sites, most of the ground motion prediction equations have been derived using observed data from multiple stations and seismic sources, and standard deviations (sigmas) of these equations are related to the statistics of the spatial variability of ground motion instead of temporal variability at a single site (ergodic assumption). This is one of the major shortcomings of carrying out site specific seismic hazard asse...
Second Chance: A Hybrid Approach for Dynamic Result Caching and Prefetching in Search Engines
Ozcan, Rifat; Altıngövde, İsmail Sengör; Barla Cambazoglu, B.; ULUSOY, ÖZGÜR (Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), 2013-12-01)
Web search engines are known to cache the results of previously issued queries. The stored results typically contain the document summaries and some data that is used to construct the final search result page returned to the user. An alternative strategy is to store in the cache only the result document IDs, which take much less space, allowing results of more queries to be cached. These two strategies lead to an interesting trade-off between the hit rate and the average query response latency. In this work...
