Tailoring the magnetic behavior of polymeric particles for bioapplications
YAKAR, ARZU; Tansik, Gulistan; Keskin, Tugba; Gündüz, Ufuk (2013-05-01)
In this study, magnetic polymeric nanoparticles were prepared use in for targeted drug delivery. First, iron oxide (Fe3O4) magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) were synthesized by coprecipitation with ferrous and ferric chloride salts. Then, to render the MNPs hydrophobic, the surfaces were covered with oleic acid. Finally, the hydrophobic MNPs (H-MNPs) were encapsulated with polymer. The emulsion evaporation technique was used for the preparation of polymer-coated H-MNP. Poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) and c...
Tailoring the optoelectronic properties of donor-acceptor-donor type pi-conjugated polymers via incorporating different electron-acceptor moieties
Tarkuc, Simge; Udum, Yasemin Arslan; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2012-01-31)
Syntheses of donor-acceptor-donor type of pi-conjugated monomers were performed to examine the effect of the acceptor units' strength on the electrochemical and optoelectrochemical properties of the resulting monomer and polymer. Palladium catalyzed Stille cross-coupling reaction of an organotin reagent with an organic electrophile was used for the synthesis of target monomers, 5,8-bis(4-hexylthiophen-2-yl)-2-(2,3-dihydrobenzo[b][1,4]clioxin-6-y1)-3-(2,3-dihydrobenzo[b][1,41dioxin-7-yl)quinoxaline (DBQHT) a...
Tailoring magnetic PLGA nanoparticles suitable for doxorubicin delivery
Tansik, Gulistan; YAKAR, ARZU; Gündüz, Ufuk (2013-12-07)
One of the main problems of current cancer chemotherapy is the lack of selectivity of anti-cancer drugs to tumor cells, which leads to systemic toxicity and adverse side effects. In order to overcome these limitations, researches on controlled drug delivery systems have gained much attention. Nanoscale-based drug delivery systems provide tumor targeting. Among many types of nanocarriers, superparamagnetic nanoparticles with their biocompatible polymer coatings can be targeted to an intented site by an exter...
Tailoring optoelectronic properties of thieno[3,2-b]thiophene comprising homopolymers via electron acceptor moieties: thienopyrrolodione, 2,1,3-benzoselenadiazole, isoindigo
Göker, Seza; Sarigül, Hatice; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2020-09-15)
In this work, thieno[3,2-b]thiophene based homopolymers, namely poly(5,6-bis(octyloxy)-4,7-bis(thieno[3,2-b] thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]selenadiazole; PBSeThTh), poly(5-(2-ethylhexyl)-1,3-bis(thieno[3,2-b]thiophen-2-yl)4H-thieno[3,4-c]pyrrole-4,6(5H)-dione; PTPDThTh) and poly((E)-6,6 '-bis(thieno[3,2-b]thiophen-2-yl)-1,1 ' diundecyl-[3,3 '-biindolinylidene]-2,2 '-dione; PIIDThTh), were obtained potentiodynamically to tailor optoelectronic properties via altering electron acceptor moieties which were 5,6-b...
Tailoring ISO/IEC 12207 for instructional software development
Demirörs, Onur; Demirors, E; Tarhan, A; Yildiz, A (2000-09-07)
This paper describes our experience on tailoring ISO/IEC 12207 for instructional software development. The project was initiated by a large government agency, and the process defined is to be followed by its suppliers during a typical software development contract. The process if targeted especially to small software development companies and provides guidance on what to do with respect to the customer's expectations
