The effect of microporous vanadosilicate AM-6 thin films as photocatalysts for the degradation of methylene blue
Kuzyaka, Duygu; Galioglu, Sezin; ALTIN, İLKNUR; Sokmen, Munevver; Akata Kurç, Burcu (2018-11-01)
In the current study, a new photocatalyst in thin film form exhibiting photocatalytic activity under visible light range was introduced. For that purpose, microporous vanadosilicate (AM-6, (Na,K)(2)VSi5O13) and silver nanoparticle (Ag-0) incorporated vanadosilicate AM-6 thin films were investigated as photocatalysts for the photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue (MB). To create different oxidation states of vanadium cation present in the center dot center dot center dot V-o-V-o-V center dot center d...

The Effect of Defects Created in Microporous Vanadosilicate AM-6 Thin Films in Photocatalysis
Kuzyaka, Duygu; Akata Kurç, Burcu (2018-11-30)
Micro and Nanotechnology Department, Middle East Technical University, Ankara, , Turkey The development of visible-light effective photocatalysts allows low cost degradation of toxic non-biodegradable organic pollutants. Vanadium, present in a specific oxidation state within the structure of SiO2 matrix could open up the gateway to investigate and tailor the defects created for such photocatalytic applications. Vanadosilicate AM-6, which is a large pore microporous material containing semiconducting monatom...
The effect of annealing conditions on the red photoluminescence of nanocrystalline Si/SiO 2 films
Wu, Xiaochun; Bek, Alpan; Bittner, Alexander M.; Eggs, Ch.; Ossadnik, Ch.; VEPREK, S (Elsevier BV, 2003-02-03)
Nanocrystalline Si (nc-Si) embedded in a SiO2 matrix, fabricated by plasma CVD and a subsequent post-treatment shows a broad red photoluminescence (PL). In this paper, the effects of annealing temperature, atmosphere and time on the red PL from 1.75 to 1.5 eV have been investigated in detail. It is found that the spectral shift and the PL intensity from 1.75 to 1.5 eV show a strong and unique dependence on annealing conditions. For a PL approximately 1.75 eV, upon 400 °C forming gas annealing, the spectral ...
