Synthesis and Characterization of Bulk Amorphous Nanocrystalline Soft Magnetic Materials

2016-10-01
(Fe36Co36B19.2Si4.8Nb4)99.25Cu0.75 bulk glassy rod with 3 mm diameter was synthesized by copper mold casting method and structural characterization of as cast sample was carried out. The non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements were used for investigating the crystallization kinetics of the alloy. Kinetic parameters of process were determined by Kissinger and Ozawa methods. Isothermal DSC measurements at temperature above glass transition temperature of the alloy were done for investigating nanocrystals dispersed in amorphous matrix. By controlling the annealing temperature variation of magnetic properties of the alloy was examined.

Synthesis, characterization, and catalytic activity of supported molybdenum Schiff base complex as a magnetically recoverable nanocatalyst in epoxidation reaction
Moradi-Shoeili, Zeinab; Zare, Maryam; Bagherzadeh, Mojtaba; Özkar, Saim; Akbayrak, Serdar (Informa UK Limited, 2016-01-01)
A heterogeneous nanocatalyst was prepared via covalent anchoring of dioxomolybdenum(VI) Schiff base complex on core-shell structured Fe3O4@SiO2. The properties and the nature of the surface-fixed complex have been identified by a series of characterization techniques such as SEM, EDX, XRD, TGA, FT-IR, and VSM. The synthesized hybrid material was an efficient nanocatalyst for selective oxidation of olefins to corresponding epoxides with t-BuOOH in high yields and selectivity. The catalyst could be convenient...
Characterization of magnetite thin films produced by sol-gel processing
Eken, Ali Erdem; Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2008)
Magnetite (Fe3O4) thin films were prepared by a sol-gel process in which, a solution of iron (III) nitrate dissolved in ethylene glycol was applied on glass substrates by spin coating. Xerogel films were obtained by drying the coated films at 110 °C. The films were sintered between 300 °C and 450 °C in order to observe the phases existing in the films at different temperatures. Coating solution showed Newtonian behaviour and viscosity was found as 0.0215 Pa.s. DTA analysis showed that, sintering temperature...
Characterization of the polymer of a dipyrrolyl monomer by pyrolysis mass spectrometry
Ertas, Merve; Hacaloğlu, Jale; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2004-08-01)
In this work, characterization of a homopolymer of succinic acid bis(4-pyrrol-1-ylphenyl) ester prepared by galvonastatic polymerization was carried out by direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry. Although decomposition of the monomer yielding mainly butadionic acid and pyrrole occurred under the galvonastatic polymerization conditions, growth of the polymer through the pyrrole moieties was also achieved, yielding a ladder-type polymer film. The polypyrrole chains contained both quinoid and aromatic units as in ...
Synthesis of a regular polymer containing pseudo-polyether cages
Cihaner, A; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Elsevier BV, 2005-04-20)
A new compound consisting of 2-thienyl units linked by polyether bridge has been synthesized and its electrochemical polymerization was performed via constant potential electrolysis (CPE) in an electrolytic solution containing 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF(6)) dissolved in CH3CN. Chemical polymerization was carried out using FeCl3 as oxidizing agent. It is found that both methods gave the same polymer product without any cleavage of the polyether bridge between thiophene (Th) rings. Al...
Purification and modification of bentonite and its use in polypropylene and linear low density polyethylene matrix nanocomposites
Seyidoğlu, Tijen; Yılmazer, Ülkü; Department of Chemical Engineering (2010)
The potential use of Reşadiye/Tokat bentonite as a reinforcement in polypropylene (PP) and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) polymer matrix nanocomposites filler was investigated. At first, organoclays (OC) were prepared by cation exchange reaction (CER) between the raw bentonite (RB) and three quaternary ammonium salts with long alkyl tails (QA): hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide [HMA] [Br], tetrabutyl ammonium tetrafluoroborate [TBA] [BF4], tetrakisdecyl ammonium bromide [TKA] [Br] and one quater...
