Kinetic study of the effect of amino acids on methane (95%)—propane (5%) hydrate formation
Longinos, Sotirios Nik.; Parlaktuna, Mahmut (2021-01-01)
© 2021, Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, Hungary. The motivation for this study is the potential of environmental friendly amino acids such as alanine, histidine, phenylalanine and valine to be examined as inhibitors on methane (95%)—propane (5%) hydrate formation together with the hydrodynamic examination of three different flows in hydrate formation process. The outcomes indicated that valine and alanine behave as promoters while histidine and phenylalanine behave as inhibitors. From hydrodynamic perception radi...
Kinetic analysis of photosynthetic growth, hydrogen production and dual substrate utilization by Rhodobacter capsulatus
Sevinc, Pelin; Gündüz, Ufuk; EROĞLU, İNCİ; Yucel, Meral (2012-11-01)
Rhodobacter capsulatus is purple non-sulfur (PNS) bacterium which can produce hydrogen and CO2 by utilizing volatile organic acids in presence of light under anaerobic conditions. Photofermentation by PNS bacteria is strongly affected by temperature and light intensity. In the present study we present the kinetic analysis of growth, hydrogen production, and dual consumption of acetic acid and lactic acid at different temperatures (20, 30 and 38 degrees C) and light intensities (1500, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 50...
Kinetic analysis of oxidation behavior of crude oil SARA constituents
Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Pamir, R (1998-05-01)
In this research two Turkish crude oils (medium and heavy) were separated into their saturate, aromatic, resin, and asphaltene (SARA) fractions by column chromatographic techniques, and combustion experiments were carried out on whole crude oils and their fractions by thermogravimentric analysis (TD/DTG) under air atmosphere at a 10 degrees C/min heating rate. Investigation of SARA fractions allows quantitative determination of the temperature intervals at which evaporation, oxidation, and combustion effect...
KINETIC COMPENSATION RELATIONS FOR ASCORBIC-ACID DEGRADATION AND PECTINESTERASE INACTIVATION DURING ORANGE JUICE PASTEURIZATION
ULGEN, N; OZILGEN, M (Wiley, 1991-01-01)
The thermal degradation kinetics of ascorbic acid and the inactivation kinetics of pectinesterase were studied experimentally with pH-adjusted orange juice. No simple trends were observed in variation of the kinetic parameters with pH, but both kinetic functions agreed with kinetic compensation relations. An isokinetic temperature was observed for ascorbic acid degradation at pH 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5 implying that the same degradation mechanism was valid at these pH values. A large deviation at pH 4.0 from t...
