Testing a model of career indecision among university students based on social cognitive career theory
Büyükgöze Kavas, Ayşenur; Güneri, Oya; Department of Educational Sciences (2011)
The aim of the current study is to investigate the some potential factors that contribute to career indecision of university students. In accordance with that, a mediational causal model based on Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) was proposed to test; a) the direct and indirect relationships of locus of control, perceived parental attitudes, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career outcome expectations with career indecision and b) to what extend the combination of these variables explain career...
Testing the outflow theory of Malcherek by slit weir data
FERRO, Vito; Aydın, İsmail (2018-03-01)
In this paper the flow-process of a slit weir is analyzed by the outflow theory of Malcherek. Average flow velocity over the slit weir is expressed in terms of head over weir and the momentum correction coefficient. The theoretically deduced stage-discharge formula was then calibrated using experimental data obtained for a ratio between the weir and the channel width ranging from 0.05 to 0.25. The deduced stage-discharge relationship allows to measure discharge values characterized by errors which are, for ...
Testing the interface hypothesis: L2 acquisition of English subjects and articles by Turkish learners
Geydir, Ecem; Sağın Şimşek, Sultan Çiğdem; Department of English Language Teaching (2020)
This thesis aims to expand the testing grounds of the Interface Hypothesis (IH) by investigating the acquisition of English subjects operating with pure syntax and article uses of (in)definiteness and genericity in English governed with external and internal interfaces respectively by L1-Turkish learners. Fifty-eight sophomore students who have been studying in the Department of Foreign Language Education of a state university in central Turkey were asked to complete a Grammaticality Judgement, a Discourse ...

Aydın, Yasin; Güneri, Oya (2018-05-05)
This study aimed to investigate psychological inflexibility, ruminative thinking, worry and self-compassion, in relation to college adjustment within an interactional model by using structural equation modeling. The sample of the study consisted of 657 (486 females, 171 males) first year college students at a public university in western Turkey. The data intruments of the study were Demographic Information Form, University Life Scale (ULS; Aladağ, Kağnıcı, Tuna, & Tezer, 2003), Acceptance and Action Questio...
