Effect of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) on crystal structure of palm stearin emulsions
Sevdın, Sezen; Yucel, Umut; Alpas, Hami (2017-08-01)
High hydrostatic pressure (HHP) treatment was used to control the crystallization behavior of solid lipid nanoparticles stabilized with sodium caseinate (SC) and soy lecithin Phospholipon 80H (80H). Samples were pressurized at 100 and 500 MPa, at 10, 20 and 40 degrees C for 15 min. The stability of emulsions was analyzed by visual observation for gelation, and the change in the droplet size distribution using light scattering measurements after HHP treatment and storage for 28 days at 4 degrees C. The cryst...
Effect of particle size and heating rate on the combustion of Silopi asphaltite
Altun, Naci Emre; Kök, Mustafa Verşan (2002-05-01)
In this study, the effects of particle size and heating rate on the combustion properties of Silopi asphaltite were investigated. Nonisothermal thermogravimetry experiments were carried out at three different size fractions and five different heating rates. The TG/DTG experiments were carried out from ambient to 900 degreesC in air. The data obtained were analyzed for the determination of the combustion characteristics of the sample. Also an Arrhenius type kinetic model complemented with the weighed mean ac...
Effect of layer thickness on the electrical parameters and conduction mechanisms of conjugated polymer-based heterojunction diode
Yildiz, D. E.; APAYDIN, D. H.; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (2017-05-01)
In this study, thickness-dependent current density-voltage (J-V) characteristics obtained for poly{(9,9-dioctylfluorene) 22,7-diyl-(4,7-bis (thien-2-yl)2-dodecyl-benzo[1,2,3] triazole)} (PFTBT) conjugated copolymer based heterojunction diode fabricated on ITO were investigated in terms of electrical characteristics. In order to analyze J-V plots with ITO/PEDOT: PSS/PFTBT: PC61BM/LiF/Al configuration, the thickness-dependent J-V measurements were applied in the thickness range between 90 and 200 nm. The effe...
Effect of magnetic field and gamma irradiation on the electrical properties and structure of the Tl-based ceramic superconductors
Ozkan, H; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Kayed, T (IOP Publishing, 2000-02-01)
The voltage-current (V-I) characteristics, critical temperatures and the critical currents of Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 (Tl-2212) and Tl2Ba2Ca2Cu3O10 (Tl-2223) ceramic superconductors were studied in magnetic fields up to 80 mT after several gamma irradiations up to 100 MR. The effect of gamma irradiation on the structure of these materials has also been studied. The normal state resistance increases by 20-30% with gamma irradiation, most of the changes taking place in low gamma doses up to 10 MR. The critical temperat...
Effect of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) and high dynamic pressure (HDP) on stability and rheological properties of model oil-in-water emulsions
Bigikoçin, Erman; Alpas, Hami; Mert, Behiç; Department of Food Engineering (2010)
High pressure applications are alternatives to conventional methods in food processing. They provide interesting modifications in food structures which leads to new product formulations. The aim of this study is to identify the effects of two different treatments, high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) and high dynamic pressure (HDP) on stability and rheological properties of model oil-in-water emulsions. Microfluidization was selected among the HDP homogenization techniques. The performance of each process was an...
