In-situ incorporation of binder during sol-gel preparation of Pd-based sulfated zirconia for reduction of nitrogen oxides under lean-burn conditions: Effect on activity and wash-coating characteristics
Sinha Majumdar, Sreshtha; Çelik, Gökhan; Alexander, Anne-Marie; Gawade, Preshit; Ozkan, Umit S. (2017-03-01)
We have developed a dual-catalyst aftertreatment system for reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust stream of natural gas-fired lean-burn engines by utilizing the unburned hydrocarbons present in the engine exhaust. The dual-catalyst bed consists of a physical mixture of a reduction catalyst (Pd/SZ) and an oxidation catalyst (Co/CeO2). In order to make this dual-catalyst system viable for practical use in the real aftertreatment units, it is necessary to develop a catalytically active washcoat for loa...

In planta determination of GaMyb transcription factor as a target of pathogen induced microRNA, mir159
Akkaya, Mahinur; Dagdas, Gulay Gok; Dagdas, Yasin F. (2011-09-01)
One of the molecular mechanisms underlying the plant–pathogen interactions is the regulation of gene expressions in plant responses by microRNAs which are either stimulated or silenced against pathogen attacks. Among the plant miRNAs, we found that mir159 is one of which that differentially expressed upon Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei (Bgh) infected resistant and susceptible barley lines. The study aims to confirm its role in regulating one of its putative target genes, GaMyb transcription factor, in vivo...
The di-pi-methane photorearrangement of 2,3-disubstituted benzobarrelenes and benzonorbornadiene - Substituent effects in regioselectivity
Altundas, R; Dastan, A; Unaldi, NS; Guven, K; Uzun, O; Balcı, Metin (2002-02-01)
2,3-Disubstituted benzobarrelene and benzonorbornadiene derivatives 16, 17, and 18, containing electron-withdrawing and electron-donating substituents, have been synthesized and subjected to triplet-sensitized photoisomerization. Methyl 3-methyl-2-benzobarrelenecarboxylate (16) gave two di-pi-methane rearrangement products. However, methyl 3-cyano-2-benzobarrelenecarboxyidte (17) underwent an intramolecular [2(pi) + 2(pi)] cycloaddition reaction, whilst methyl 3cyano-2-benzonorbornadienecarboxylate (18) for...
In-situ radiation response of additively manufactured modified Inconel 718 alloys
Aydoğan Güngör, Eda; El-Atwani, O.; Erdem, B.; Li, M.; Devaraj, A.; Koc, B.; Chen, W. -Y.; Maloy, A. (2022-03-01)
In this study, a novel alloy of modified Inconel 718 produced by laser powder bed fusion is studied before and after in-situ Kr irradiation up to 3 dpa at 200 and 450 degrees C. Before irradiation, the microstructure consists of dislocation cells having a misorientation angle less than 5 degrees and with an average size of -500 nm. There are also second phase particles of MC type carbides, Laves phase and oxides such as Y-O, Y-(Ti)-Al-O. While the microstructure consists of stacking fault tetrahedra, faulte...
