Synthesis and electrochromic properties of conducting polymers of 5,8-di(pyrrol-2-yl)-2,3-di(thiophen-2-yl) quinoxaline and its copolymers
Taşkın, Aslı Tuba; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Department of Chemistry (2009)
A novel electroactive monomer 5,8-Di(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-2, 3-di(thiophen-2-yl) quinoxaline (PTQ) was successfully synthesized via Stille Coupling reaction between quinoxaline and pyrrole. Nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR and 13C NMR) and Mass spectroscopy were used to characterize the monomer. The monomer was electrochemically polymerized in the presence of tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP) as supporting electrolyte in dichloromethane. Monomer reveals relatively low oxidation potential at +0.70V. Spectro...
Synthesis and electrochromic properties of conducting copolymers of dioxocino- and dithiocino-quinoxalines with bithiophene
Beyazyidirim, S; Camurlu, P; Yilmaz, D; Gullu, M; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2006-02-15)
Two new monomers, 2-benzyl-5,12-dihydro-2H-pyrrolo[3',4':2,3][1,4]dioxocino[6,7-b]quinoxaline (DPOQ) and 5,12-dihydrothieno[3',4':2,3][1,4]dithiocino[6,7-b]quinoxaline (DTTQ), were synthesized. The chemical structures of the monomers were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (H-1 NMR), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and mass spectra. Copolymer of DPOQ with bithiophene (BT) was synthesized via potentiostatic electrochemical polymerization in acetonitrile-tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate solvent...
Synthesis and Optoelectronic Properties of Iptycene-Naphthazarin Dyes
Dengiz, Çağatay; SWAGER, Timothy M. (2019-01-01)
We report the synthesis and characterization of iptycene-naphthazarin dyes by using a sequential Diels-Alder approach. The tautomerization of naphthazarin was used as the key step in the synthesis, with structures confirmed by single-crystal X-ray and NMR analysis. The systematic trends in electronic properties were investigated by UV/Vis spectroscopy BF2 complexes of the dyes were prepared by reaction with BF3 OEt2 in CH2Cl2.
Synthesis and electrochromic properties of conducting copolymers of dioxocino-and dithiocino- quinoxalines with bithiophene
Beyazyıldırım, Şenize; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Department of Chemistry (2005)
Two new monomers; 2-benzyl-5,12-dihydro-2Hpyrrolo[ 3̕,4̕:2,3][1,4]dioxocino[6,7-b]quinoxaline (DPOQ) and 5,12- dihydrothieno[3̕,4̕:2,3][1,4]dithiocino[6,7-b]quinoxaline (DTTQ), were synthesized. The chemical structures of the monomers were characterized by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H-NMR), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Mass Spectrometry (MS). Copolymer of DPOQ with bithiophene (BT) was synthesized via potentiostatic electrochemical polymerization in acetonitrile (ACN)-tetrabutylammonium tetrafluo...
Synthesis and luminescence properties of tetraphenylethene-based small molecules used in organic light emitting diodes
Odabaş, Serhat; Tanyeli, Cihangir; Department of Chemistry (2014)
Organic light emitting diodes (OLED) is an exciting new technology that attracted much attention to scientist for emissive technology. The basic OLED structure consists of a stack of fluorescent organic layers sandwiched between a transparent conducting anode and metallic cathode. The important problems in luminescence is that, molecules aggregate in solid state that leads formation of excimers which results in emission quenching so that most of the luminescent materials show weak emissions in their solid f...
