LANTHANUM DOPED DICALCIUM PHOSPHATE MIXED WITH GRAPHENE OXIDE BONE CEMENTS AS A POTENTIAL MATERIAL IN BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS
Motameni, Ali; Evis, Zafer; -, -; Department of Engineering Sciences (2021-9-06)
In this thesis, mesoporous particles of β-tricalcium phosphate (βTCP, βCa3(PO4)2) and lanthanum (La) doped βTCP were synthesized by wet precipitation method attached with a microwave refluxing system. Pure dicalcium phosphate (DCP) and La modified dicalcium phosphate (La-DCP) bone cements were prepared based on acid/base reaction between βTCP (or La- βTCP) and monocalcium phosphate monohydrate (MCPM) in the presence of water. DCP bone cements were also mixed with 1.5-3.5wt.% of graphene oxide (GO). The obta...
Lanthanum doped dicalcium phosphate bone cements for potential use as filler for bone defects
Motameni, Ali; Alshemary, Ammar Z.; Dalgıç, Ali Deniz; Keskin, Dilek; Evis, Zafer (2021-03-01)
The bone defects arising as a result of trauma should be filled to provide a framework to support and encourage the growth of new and living bone tissues. Among the many synthetic bone graft substitutes, self-hardening calcium phosphate (CP) cements have been widely used to repair hard tissue defects. In this study, pure dical-cium phosphate (DCP) and lanthanum (La) modified dicalcium phosphate (La-DCP) bone cements were prepared based on acid/base reaction between beta-tricalcium phosphate (beta TCP) (or L...
Dimethyl ether, diethyl ether & ethylene from alcohols over tungstophosphoric acid based mesoporous catalysts
Ciftci, Aysegul; VARIŞLI, DİLEK; Tokay, Kenan Cem; Sezgi, Naime Aslı; Doğu, Timur (2012-10-01)
Tungstophosphoric acid (TPA) incorporated silicate structured new mesoporous catalysts were synthesized following one-pot hydrothermal and impregnation procedures. Surface area of TPA@MCM-41, which was prepared by impregnating TPA into MCM-41, was two orders of magnitude higher than the surface area of pure TPA and this catalyst showed very high activity in dehydration reactions of both ethanol and methanol. Ethanol fractional conversion values reaching to 1.0 was obtained at 300 degrees C at a space time o...

Dielectric matrix influence on the photoluminescence properties of silicon nanocrystals
Ferraioli, L.; Cazzanelli, M.; Daldosso, N.; Mulloni, V.; Bellutti, P.; Yerci, Selçuk; Turan, Raşit; Mikhaylov, A.n.; Tetelbaum, D.ı.; Pavesi, L. (null; 2006-12-01)
Photoluminescence properties of silicon nanocrystals embedded in five different oxide matrices are analyzed. Samples are silicon rich oxide and oxynitride produced by PECVD and ion implantation and crystalline and amorphous aluminum oxide implanted with silicon.
