Industrial Design Materials Experience Laboratory Realization Project
Uzun, Cemile Nil(2016-12-31)
In materials education for industrial design there is a trend towards providing students with access to physical material and product samples. The fundamental reason is for students to experience a wide variety of product materials first-hand through observation and touch, complementing more traditional ways of learning the subject (e.g. via lectures, books, data sheets, and the Internet). The Materials Experience Lab will be a unique specialist resource centre within METU Department of Industrial Design, ...

The Middle East Technical University (METU) (http://www.metu.edu.tr) is the leading technical university in Turkey. The department of Computer Engineering (http://www.ceng.metu.edu.tr) has twenty seven faculty members with PhDs, 550 undergraduate students and 165 graduate-students. The major research funding sources include the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÜBÍTAK), the European Commission, and the internal research funds of METU. Data management research conducted in the department ...
Enterprise resource planning systems selection process
Kenaroğlu, Bahar; Erdil, Erkan; Department of Science and Technology Policy Studies (2004)
In this study, a research is developed to establish a comprehensive framework for ERP systems selection process and provide guidance for better ERP systems selection and evaluation by investigating all the aspects of the selection process. The research is conducted through a comprehensive study prior to key information systems journals, conferences, overall enterprise information systems materials in electronic databases, and also in practitioner journals. As a result, the study is able to present a compreh...
Operational fixed job scheduling problem
Türsel Eliiyi, Deniz; Azizoğlu, Meral; Department of Industrial Engineering (2004)
In this study, we consider the Operational Fixed Job Scheduling Problem on identical parallel machines. The problem is to select a subset of jobs for processing among a set of available jobs with fixed arrival times and deadlines, so as to maximize the total weight. We analyze the problem under three environments: Working time constraints, Spread time constraints, and Machine dependent job weights. We show that machine eligibility constraints appear as a special case of the last environment. We settle the c...
