Pollen Morphology of Some Taxa of Elymus L. Genus in Triticeae (Gramineae) Tribe
Başer, Birol; Cabi, Evren; Doğan, Musa; Pehlivan, Sevil (2018-05-05)
The true grasses are monocotyledonous plants (Class Liliopsida) in the Family Poaceae, also known as Gramineae. There are about 600 genera and between 9,000-10,000 species of grasses. It is estimated that grasslands comprise 20% of the vegetation cover of the earth. This family is the most important of all plant families to human economies, including lawn and forage grasses, the staple food grains grown around the world, and bamboo, widely used for construction through...
POLLEN MORPHOLOGY OF AGROPYRON GAERTNER IN TURKEY
Ozler, Hulya; Cabi, Evren; Us, Ebru; Doğan, Musa; Pehlivan, Sevil (2009-06-01)
Pollen morphology of Agropyron cristatum (L.) Gaertner. s.s. (subsp. incanum (Nabelek) Melderis and subsp. pectinatum (M. Bieb.) Tzvelev, latter including var. pectinatum and var. imbricatum (Roemer & Schultes) G. Beck) in Turkey has been studied by using light microscope and scanning electron microscope. The above-mentioned taxa are homogenous in both aperture type and exine ornamentation. Pollen grains are monoporate (rarely diporate in the case of var. imbricatum) having scabrate grouped exine surface. T...
Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and light microscope (LM) studies on the seed morphology of Verbascum taxa (Scrophulariaceae) and their systematic implications
Cabi, Evren; Baser, Birol; Yavru, Ahter; Polat, Filiz; Toprak, Umut; KARAVELİOĞULLARI, FAİK AHMET (2011-06-01)
Verbascum L. is the largest genus of the family Scrophulariceae and includes several species are of medicinal importance. In this study, external seed morphologies of 30 taxa included in Group A belonging to genus Verbascum L. (Scrophulariaceae) in Turkey, have been investigated using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and LM (Light Microscopy). Light microscope observations showed that seed size ranges from 0.3 mm to 1.5 mm in length and 0.1 to 0.6 in width. Seeds vary from oblong, oblong prismatic, trigon...
Usage of device-to-device communication with multiple antennas at the cell edges Çoklu antenli cihazdan cihaza haberleşme yönteminin hücre kenarindaki alanlarda kullanimi
Erkan, Kerem; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (2018-07-05)
5G technology is considered to bring dramatic improvements from the large scale data transmission to latency, from reliable data trasmission to energy efficiency. One significant improvement is expected in the communication rates between the mobile users at cell edges. Device-to-device (D2D) communication is an important technique to meet the higher data rates between the mobile users at cell edges compared to standard base station communication. In this paper, important decrease in the outage probability i...
German conservatism and its impact on Turkey's membership debate
Alioğlu, Özlem; Eralp, Yakup Atila; Department of European Studies (2010)
This thesis aims to analyze German Conservatism and the impact of Germany’s policies towards Turkey’s membership. The point of departure is privileged partnership which is offered to Turkey in replace of membership to the EU. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is a prominent defender of privileged partnership and previous Chancellor Gerhard Schröder who supported Turkey’s accession, had a totally different attitude. It is questioned whether this sharp change in foreign policy derives from German Conservatism a...
