Organic bulk heterojunction solar cells based on benzodithiophene and benzothiadiazole containing conjugated polymers
Toppare, Levent Kamil; Bolayır, Eda; Ünal, Özlem; Çırpan, Ali; Taşkaya Aslan, Sultan (null; 2018-07-06)
Organic photovoltaics (OPVs) or so-called organic solar cells particularly hold promise for manufacturing solar energy due to their advantages in low cost and production processes. In order to understand and improve the performance of OPVs, intense efforts have been dedicated around the world [1]. In particular, conjugated polymers are attractive for OPVs due to the π-conjugated systems in the polymer backbone which generates and transport the charge carriers [2]. Therefore, the design and synthesis of nove...
Organic/Organic Heterointerface Engineering to Boost Carrier Injection in OLEDs
Fathollahi, Mohammadreza; Ameri, Mohsen; Mohajerani, Ezeddin; Mehrparvar, Ebrahim; Babaei, Mohammadrasoul (2017-02-01)
We investigate dynamic formation of nanosheet charge accumulations by heterointerface engineering in double injection layer (DIL) based organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Our experimental results show that the device performance is considerably improved for the DIL device as the result of heterointerface injection layer (HIIL) formation, in comparison to reference devices, namely, the current density is doubled and even quadrupled and the turn-on voltage is favorably halved, to 3.7 V, which is promising...
Organic Charge Transfer Cocrystals as Additives for Dissipation of Contact Charges on Polymers
Ekim, Sunay Dilara; Kaya, Gorkem Eylul; Daştemir, Murat; Yıldırım, Erol; Baytekin, Hasan Tarık; BAYTEKİN, BİLGE (2022-12-01)
Common polymers can accumulate surface charges through contact, a phenomenon known since ancient times. This charge accumulation can have detrimental consequences in industry. It causes accidents and yields enormous economic losses. Many empirical methods have been developed to prevent the problems caused by charge accumulation. However, a general chemical approach is still missing in the literature since the charge accumulation and discharging mechanisms have not been completely clarified. The current prac...
Organic/metal-organic photosensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC): Recent developments, new trends, and future perceptions
Yahya, Mohamed; Bouzıanı, Asmae; OCAK, CEMİL; SEFEROĞLU, ZEYNEL; Sillanpää, Mika (2021-08-01)
Humankind is currently heavily reliant on fossil fuel for its energy supply. However, fossil fuels are a nonrenewable source. It requires hundreds of millions of years for fossil fuels to develop inside the earth, and with our daily rate of consumption, we will run out of fuel unless we find an alternative source. Solar energy has gained much attention as a solution for the current energy deficit since it converts light energy directly to electrical energy. Dye-sensitized solar cells deliver a cheaper and d...
Inorganic antimony speciation using tungsten coil atom trap and hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry
Akay, Pınar; Ataman, Osman Yavuz; Department of Chemistry (2010)
Antimony is a toxic element which is mostly found in two oxidation states (III and V) in environmental, biological and geological samples. Antimony may form various inorganic and organic compounds that exhibit differences in analytical behavior, toxicity and mobility; inorganic compounds of antimony are more toxic than organic forms and toxicity of Sb(III) has been shown to be 10 times higher than that of Sb(V). Therefore selective determination of Sb(III) and Sb(V) is required in environmental and biologic...
