A fuzzy based decision support system for locational suitability of settlements; Odun Pazarı, Eskişehir case study
Ercan, İsmail; Akyürek, Sevda Zuhal; Department of Geodetic and Geographical Information Technologies (2005)
Spatial Decision Making as a branch of decision making science deals with geographically related data in order to achieve complex spatial decision problems. Fuzzy set theory is one of the methods that can be used to come up with these types of problems. On the other hand, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is one of the most powerful tools that we can use to accomplish spatial decision problems. Selection of the suitable site or land-use for the real estate is also a spatial decision making problem. Whe...
A rule based approach for detecting bridges from high resolution electro-optic satellite images Yüksek çözünürlüklü elektro-opti̇k i̇mgelerde köprü tespi̇ti̇ i̇çi̇n kural tabanli bi̇r yaklaşim
Gedik, Ekin; Çinar, Umut; Karaman, Ersin; Yardimci, Yasemin; Halıcı, Uğur; Pakin, Kubilay (2012-07-09)
In this study, an automatic and rule based approach which extracts bridges over water in satellite images is developed. To find the bridges in the image, possible water regions are first found using thresholding and clustering methods. Candidate bridge regions are then extracted by applying morphological operations to the water mask. Also the algorithm proposes an optional verification step that uses geometric constraints and orientation information to increase precision values. The proposed algorithm is te...
A new channel order estımatıon algorıthm for fır sımo channels
Karakutuk, Serkan; Tuncer, Temel Engin (null; 2009-08-04)
Channel order estimation problem is considered for FIR (Finite Impulse Response) modeled single-input multi-output (SIMO) communication systems. The performance of the channel estimation algorithms depends on the accuracy and robustness of the channel order estimation. A new channel order estimation algorithm with high accuracy and robustness is proposed for SIMO systems. The proposed algorithm is based on the least squares smoothing (LSS) algorithm for channel estimation. It is guaranteed to find the true ...
