Archaeometrical investigation on some medieval period glass bracelets
Derviş, Gülgün; Demirci, Şahinde; Department of Archaeometry (2006)
Glass has been used to make a variety of artifacts including bottles, drinking cups, vessels, window glasses, beads and bracelets. Although occasional glass bracelets were dated back to 2000 BC, large scale manufacture of glass bracelets was encountered in Central Europe in the last centuries of 1000BC. During the excavations of Mezraa Höyük (Birecik-Şanlıurfa) in 2000-20002, a number of glass bracelets were unearthed that belongs to 13th century AD. On going excavations of Mersin Yumuktepe also give quite ...
Non-destructive x-ray flourescence analysis of early bronze age metal items from Kalınkaya-Toptaştepe: with critical remarks on the formerly applied electrochemical cleaning procedure
Geniş, Evren Yiğit; Kalkanlı, Ali; Zimmermann, Thomas; Department of Archaeometry (2011)
This thesis focuses on late Early Bronze Age metal objects from funeral context from the site Kalınkaya-Toptaştepe, dated to the late 4th and 3rd millennium BCE. The site yielded a large number of metal objects from EBA necropolis of the southern slope of Toptaştepe, offering an ideal closed assemblage for an archaeometrical analysis to reveal the metalworking technologies of an early small rural community of Central Anatolia. First archaeometrical analysis applied on these objects, however, revealed unexpe...
An inquiry on justice : bases, bearers and principles
Kibar, Sibel; Parkan, Barış; Department of Philosophy (2011)
One of the prevalent notions in the late twentieth century‘s political philosophy, justice lies at the heart of ethics, politics and jurisprudence. In this study, while I insist on the dominion of politics and the economic mode of production over morality and law, I consider the ethical realm to be also very important in justifying political movements and transformations. Defining the concept of justice plays a role more or less in the realization of justice on the Earth. I try to reveal the bases of justic...
Examining the Lycian Sites by Using GIS
Aydın, Ervin Kenan; Toprak, Vedat; Department of Archaeometry (2006)
This study investigates the relationship between the ancient settlements (in Lycia) and physical environmental parameters including topography, rock and soil types using GIS. Modern settlements are also included in the study to analyze if the response has changed to these parameters from past to the present. The databases created in the study include three topographic attributes (elevation, slope and aspect), rock type, soil type, ancient settlements and modern settlements. Analyses performed in the study i...
Psikoterapi süpervizyonunda paralel süreç: bir vaka çalışması
Gök, Ali Can (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (Ankara, Turkey), 2015-6-1)
