Graphene/SrTiO3 hetero interface studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy
KARAMAT, SHUMAİLA; KE, C; Inkaya, U. Y.; AKRAM, Rizwan; Yıldız, İlker; Zaman, S. Shah; Oral, Ahmet (Elsevier BV, 2016-08-01)
The present paper focuses on study of graphene and strontium titanate (SrTiO3 or STO) interface. An ambient pressure chemical vapour deposition (AP-CVD) setup is used to grow graphene on STO (110) substrates in the presence of methane, argon and hydrogen gases at 1000 degrees C for 4 h. Raman spectroscopy measurements confirm the presence of graphene on STO substrates due to the existence of typical D and G peaks referring to graphene. These characteristic peaks are missing in the spectrum for bare substrat...
Graphene Based Flexible Hall Sensors
İnkaya, Uğur Yiğit; Oral, Ahmet; Department of Physics (2021-9-09)
Graphene is a two-dimensional material that has electronic properties such as having low density of charge carriers with high mobility, which are ideal for fabricating Hall sensors. Also considering its elastic properties, it is a promising material for flexible electronics including flexible Hall sensorics. Graphene was synthesized via atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on 20μm-thick copper by using methane as carbon feedstock. CVD-graphene was transferred onto EVA-coated PET film via lam...
Graphene-based wideband metamaterial absorber for solar cells application
Rufangura, Patrick; Sabah, Cumali (2017-07-01)
A wideband metamaterial (MTM) absorber based on a concentric ring resonator is discussed at visible frequencies. The proposed structure offers a wideband absorption response, where absorption of >70% is gained for the frequency ranging from 537.91 to 635.73 THz. The analysis is conducted on the components of the proposed structure to understand the origin of wideband absorption. Furthermore, a graphene monolayer sheet is integrated to the proposed MTM absorber to optimize its absorptivity, where the studies...
Graphene Oxide Incorporated Silicate Doped Nano-hydroxyapatite Novel Composite for Bone Tissue Engineering
Dalgıç, Ali Deniz; Tezcaner, Ayşen; Keskin, Dilek; Evis, Zafer (2018-06-05)
Hydroxyapatite, as the natural inorganic phase of the bone tissue has been widely used as the main structure of bone tissue scaffolds. In studies, ion substitution into hydroxyapatite structure enhanced the osteogenic properties. Silicon is an ion that was used to produce silicate doped hydroxyapatite (SiHA). SiHA is reported to promote proliferation and osteogenic activity of osteoblasts. Graphene oxide (GO) is formed by functionalization of graphene with oxygen-containing groups, reported to enhance adhes...
Graphene oxide reinforced doped dicalcium phosphate bone cements for bone tissue regenerations
Motameni, Ali; Alshemary, Ammar Z.; Dalgic, Ali Deniz; Keskin, Dilek; Evis, Zafer (2022-09-01)
Artificial bone cements have widespread applications in orthopedic and dental surgeries. Nevertheless, there is a need to develop novel materials for artificial bone cements due to limitations like short-service life, weak interaction and attachment with living hard tissue, and the inability to facilitate bone regeneration of calcified tissues rather than replacing them. In the present research, a novel combination of lanthanum (La3+) ions doped dicalcium phosphate (DCP) (La-DCP) and 1.5-3.5 wt.% of graphen...
