ANALYSIS OF THE FREQUENCY SHIFT AND THE LINEWIDTH AS A FUNCTION OF TEMPERATURE IN SOLID NITROGEN
KURT, MUSTAFA; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2011-10-30)
The temperature dependence of the frequency shift and the linewidth is studied using the expressions derived from the anharmonic self-energy. The functional form of the frequency shift is fitted in this study to the experimental data for the R(1) fluorescence line of ruby sample as a function temperature at zero pressure, instead of using empirical nu-P and nu-T relations in the ruby fluorescence method as given in the literature, in particular, for the solid nitrogen. We also demonstrate in this study the ...
Analysis of parameters of coaxial dielectric barrier discharges in argon flow at atmospheric pressure
Li, Hui; Yuan, Chengxun; Kudryavtsev, Anatoly; Astafiev, Aleksandr; Bogdanov, Evgeny; Katircioglu, T. Yasar; Rafatov, İsmail (2021-04-01)
This work deals with the numerical and experimental investigation of atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharges (DBDs). In the experiment, the current and voltage of DBD sustained in an argon flow in coaxial discharge cell are measured. Numerical models are based on the drift-diffusion theory of gas discharges. Different modelling approaches, where the electron kinetics is determined on the basis of the Maxwellian electron energy distribution function (EEDF), vs models with more realistic EEDF obtai...
Analysis of the Raman frequencies of a lattice mode in NH4Cl close to the tricritical and second order phase transitions
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Elsevier BV, 2006-4)
We analyze here our observed Raman frequencies of the nu(5) (174 cm(-1)) mode in NH4Cl close to its tricritical (P = 1.6 kbar) and the second order (P = 2.8 kbar) phase transitions. The critical behavior of the frequency shifts 1/nu (partial derivative nu/partial derivative T)(P) for this optical mode is described by a power-law with the critical exponent a. Our values of a = 0.01 (T < T-C) and a = 0.11 (T > T-C) for P = 1.6 kbar in NH4Cl are close to the values of 0.066 (=1/16) below T-C and 0.125 (=1/8) a...
Analysis of the Thermal Expansivity Near the Tricritical Point in Dilute Chromium Alloys
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (2015-08-27)
Chromium (Cr) undergoes a first order Neel transition as an antiferromagnetic material. When V, Mo and Mn atoms are substituted in the Cr lattice, a weak first order Neel transition in pure Cr changes toward a second order transition and a possible tricritical point in CrV occurs close to 0.2 at % V, as observed experimentally from the measurements of the thermal expansivity at various temperatures. In this study, we analyze the experimental data for the thermal expansivity from the literature as a function...
Analysis of optical constants and temperature-dependent absorption edge of GaS0.75Se0.25 layered crystals
IŞIK, MEHMET; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2017-06-01)
GaS0.75Se0.25 single crystals were optically characterized through transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 450-1000 nm. Derivative spectrophotometry analyses on temperature dependent transmittance spectra showed that band gap energies of the crystal increase from 239 eV (T=300 K) to 2.53 eV (T=10 K). Band gap at zero temperature, average phonon energy, electron phonon coupling parameter and rates of change of band gap energy with temperature were found from the temperature depend...
