A new electrochemical method for the production of stable ascorbate free radicals
Önal, Ahmet; Öǧüş, Ay; Kısakürek, Duygu (Elsevier BV, 1990-1)
A new method for the production of ascorbate free radicals is established. The radical is produced from ascorbate in deionized water by applying constant potential electrolysis under a nitrogen atmosphere. Prior to electrolysis, a cyclic voltammogram (CV) of the ascorbic acid was obtained. Electrolysis potentials were selected as the oxidation peak potential of the ascorbic acid obtained by CV. The detection of the radical was done by electron spin resonance (esr) and uv spectroscopies.
A new method for hydroxychloroquine detection
Ünal Taş, Dilek; Persil Çetinkol, Özgül; Department of Chemistry (2022-2-09)
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) possess unique physicochemical and optical properties. Their localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) signal depends on size, shape and composition of the nanoparticles and may change with the intermolecular interactions providing opportunity to design distinct detection platforms for ions, metabolites or drugs. Here, a facile, cost-effective, rapid colorimetric method based on the citrate capped AgNPs (Cit-AgNPs) was developed for hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) detection in aqueous...
A new strategy for the synthesis of pyridines from N-propargylic beta-enaminothiones
Kelgokmen, Yilmaz; Zora, Metin (Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), 2019-03-07)
A new method for the synthesis of 2,4,5-trisubstituted pyridines from N-propargylic beta-enaminothiones is reported. beta-Enaminothiones were prepared by thionation of the corresponding beta-enaminones with Lawesson's reagent. When treated with diisopropylamine in DMF at room temperature, N-propargylic beta-enaminothiones yielded 2,4,5-trisubstituted pyridines in moderate to high yields, along with small amounts of 2-methylene-2,3-dihydro-1,4-thiazepines. The reaction was found to be general for a broad ran...
A new p- and n-dopable selenophene derivative and its electrochromic properties
Cetin, Guelben Ardahan; Balan, Abidin; Durmus, Asuman; Günbaş, Emrullah Görkem; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2009-02-01)
A novel electrically conducting polymer, poly(2-dodecyl-4,7-di(selenophen-2-yl)benzotriazole) (PSBT), containing selenophene as the strong donor and benzotriazole as the strong acceptor groups was synthesized by electrochemical polymerization. Homopolymerization and copolymerization (in the presence of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT)) were achieved in acetonitrile/dichloromethane(95/5 v/v) with 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate (TBAPF(6)). The electrochemical and optical properties of homopolym...
A new and efficient synthesis of indenone
Zengin, M; Dastan, A; Balcı, Metin (2001-01-01)
Reaction of dichloroketone 2 with NEt3 gave indenone (4) in high yield. Catodic reaction of 2 in the presence of C/Pt electrodes afforded the rearranged product 3 in high yield besides a small amount of chlorohydroxyketone 5. Reaction of rearranged dichloroketone 3 with NEt3 provided indenone (4) as the sole product. The mechanism of these reaction was discussed.
