Structural and electronic properties of guanine and guanosine
Erkoc, F; Erkoç, Şakir (Elsevier BV, 2002-08-16)
The structural and electronic properties of guanine and guanosine have been investigated theoretically by performing semi-empirical and ab initio molecular orbital theory calculations. The geometry of the systems have been optimized considering the semi-empirical molecular orbital theory at the level of Austin model 1, and the electronic properties of the systems have been calculated by ab initio restricted Hartree-Fock with including full MP2 correlation correction in their ground state.
Structural and electronic properties of rubreneperoxides
Erkoç, Şakir (2002-02-14)
The structural and electronic properties of rubrene and three rubreneperoxide isomers have been investigated by performing molecular mechanics and semi-empirical AMI molecular-orbital self-consistent field calculations. It has been found that isolated rubrene and rubreneperoxide isomers have non-planar structure, and are stable but endothermic.
Structural and electronic properties of MTA
Erkoç, Şakir (2001-06-15)
The structural and electronic properties of mellitic trianhydride (MTA) have been investigated by performing semiempirical (AM1, PM3, MNDO3) and ab initio molecular orbital self-consistent field calculations. The density of states and the IR spectrum of MTA have been calculated. It has been found that the isolated MTA molecule has a planar structure, and that it is exothermic.
Structural and optical properties of Al2O3 with Si and Ge nanocrystals
Yerci, Selçuk; Yıldız, İlker; Serincan, Ugur; Shandalov, Michael; Golan, Yuval; Turan, Raşit (2007-07-04)
Si and Ge nanocrystals were formed in Al2O3 matrix by ion implantation and subsequent annealing. The phase separation of the Si nanocrystals was observed using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy by monitoring Si 2p electrons. During nanocrystal formation with a high temperature annealing Si4+ signals corresponding to Si nanoclusters increase while Si 4+ signals related to a-SiO2 disappear from the spectrum. The transition from amorphous to nanocrystalline phase for both Si and Ge nanoclusters and the compress...
