The reaction of alkenes with AgNO2/TMSCl: The synthesis of 1,2,5-oxadiazole-2-oxides (Furoxans) via nitroso nitrates
Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı; Findik, H (Bentham Science Publishers Ltd., 2005-11-01)
The reaction of AgNO2/TMSCl with olefins affords nitrosonitrate, which arc converted into (alpha-nitroximes in good yield. Both nitrosonitrate and nitroximes are converted with acids into furoxane in high yield. The reaction of AgNO2 with TMSCl furnished first N2O3 and hexamethylsiloxane. The nitroso nitrates are obtained by addition of N2O3 to the olefines.
The synthesis of hydroxymethyl containing cyclitol derivatives
Kaya, Nihal; Balcı, Metin; Department of Chemistry (2009)
Cyclitols have attracted a great deal of attention in recent years because of diverse biological activities exhibited by them and also synthetic usefulness in the synthesis of other natural compounds or pharmaceuticals. The presence of hydroxymethyl groups in many cyclitols units building natural products is also attracting a remarkable attention. In this study, novel synthetic strategies leading to cyclitol derivatives including hydroxymethyl groups were investigated and the syntheses of bis-homoinositol d...
The synthesis of unusual isocoumarin derivatives: the chemistry of homophthalic acid
Ozcan, Sevil; Sahin, Ertan; Balcı, Metin (Elsevier BV, 2007-03-19)
Homophthalic acid was reacted with thionyl chloride/DMF and ethyl chloroformate/NEt3 in the presence and absence of NaN3. In all cases completely different isocoumarin derivatives were obtained. These unusual isocournarin derivatives were characterized and their mechanism of formation is discussed.
The syntheses of some phthalocyanine intermediates and pigments
Türker, Lemi; Oker, Levent (Elsevier BV, 1990-1)
The syntheses of various bromo and iodo derivatives of copper phthalocyanine pigments are reported; the halogenated primaries always led to trimeric or tetrameric acyclic compounds. Copper atoms were incorporated into the structures obtained from the corresponding iodinated primaries. An indirect route to the synthesis of copper tetra-3-iodophthalocyanine via the syntheses of copper tetra-3-amino- and copper tetra-3-nitro-phthalocyanine pigments is also reported.
