EFFECT OF GAMMA-IRRADIATION AND SILVER DOPING ON YBCO SUPERCONDUCTOR
OZKAN, H; ALBISS, BA; HAMDAN, N; MENARD, A (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1994-12-01)
The effect of gamma-irradiation and silver doping on the properties of YBCO superconductors has been studied by electrical resistance measurements and x-ray diffraction techniques. The zero-resistance superconducting transition temperature of (YBCO)(1-x)Ag-x systematically increase by about 2 K with an increase of Ag content up to x = 0.04. Further increase in Ag content decreases the transition temperature. The normal-state resistance decreases up to a factor of 3.4 with an increase of Ag content. No signi...

Effect of lithium doping on the properties of Tl-based superconductors
Kayed, TS; Ozkan, H; Hasanlı, Nızamı (IOP Publishing, 2001-09-01)
The effects of lithium doping on the formation and properties of the T1-based superconductors have been studied. Lithium atoms up to around 3 mol.% have been added to the oxides of nominal composition Tl1.8Ba2Ca2.2Cu3Ox, and the usual solid-state reaction method has been applied. Lithium additions in the range 0.23-0.29 mol.% increase the fraction of the Tl-2223 phase and significantly improve the critical temperature of the samples. Higher amounts of lithium additions diminish the Tl-2223 phase, reduce the...
Effect of Cr and Mo doping on the electrochemical properties of freeze-dried LiCoO2
Buyukburc, Atil; Aydınol, Mehmet Kadri (2014-10-01)
In this study, LiCoO2 is doped with 2 mol.% Cr and Mo in order to determine the effect of these elements on the electrochemical performance. Precursors are synthesized by means of freeze drying. Calcination is applied at 750 degrees C for 24 h. Doping content and calcination temperature as well as duration are very important for producing impurity-free layered LiCoO2. If the doping content is larger than 2 mol.% or when the calcination temperature is decreased to 550 degrees C, impurity phases are seen. As ...
EFFECT OF ELECTRON AND GAMMA-RAY IRRADIATION ON THE CHEMICAL-COMPOSITION AND ATOMIC DISTRIBUTION OF COPPER-BASED AND IRON-BASED ALLOYS
BINNATOV, KG; RODIONOV, YL; Mehrabov, Amdulla; ALIZADE, II (1990-01-01)
This paper reports that the oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur contents of steels and alloys can vary as a result of irradiation by electrons and gamma rays at comparatively low temperatures. As this takes place, the materials can be either saturated with these elements, or these elements can be removed from the irradiated materials, depending on the irradiation medium. Transformations are initiated as a result of radiation-stimulated oxygenation of copper-iron, iron-manganese, and iron-nickel a...
